Absolutely nothing.
The manager was horrifically rude. The toilet handle was broke, stains on the bed sheets, dust everywhere. Looks like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. Mattress was rock solid.

Exceptional Customer Service – A Memorable Family Stay
My wife, daughter, and I stayed at Holiday Inn Express Chingford, London on Friday night, and I would like to express my sincere appreciation for two outstanding members of your team: Sam (Samy) and Irina.
From the moment we checked in at around 9:15 PM, they made us feel genuinely welcome. Their professionalism, kindness, and warm attitude immediately stood out. They went above and beyond to ensure our family had a wonderful experience.
As a lovely gesture, they even gave a gift to my young daughter, which made her extremely happy and created a special memory for our family. What impressed me even more was that, without us even asking, they upgraded our room after noticing we were travelling as a family. I was actually considering requesting a larger room, but they anticipated our needs and proactively arranged an upgraded double room. That level of customer care was truly remarkable.
The room, service, and overall experience were excellent, but it was Sam and Irina who made our stay exceptional. They are a credit to your hotel and to the IHG brand. Employees like them create the kind of memorable guest experiences that keep customers returning.
Please pass on my heartfelt thanks to both of them. They truly deserve recognition for their outstanding service, whether through a commendation, incentive, bonus, or consideration during their next appraisal.

Breakfast Feedback
While our overall stay was very pleasant, I would like to provide some constructive feedback regarding the breakfast experience.
Unfortunately, the breakfast did not meet the standard I have come to expect from Holiday Inn Express and the IHG brand. Having stayed at several Holiday Inn Express properties across the UK, I found this breakfast to be below the level of quality I have previously experienced.
The hash browns were overly crispy and appeared overcooked. Normally, hash browns should have a crispy exterior while remaining soft and fluffy inside, but these were very hard and dry. The sausages and bacon were also quite dry. On a positive note, the scrambled eggs, baked beans, and toast were good and enjoyable.
Regarding the drinks, both the apple juice and orange juice were not sufficiently chilled. Additionally, the juice dispenser seemed inconsistent. The first serving was very diluted with too much water, while the second serving was overly sweet, suggesting the juice concentrate-to-water ratio was not properly balanced. I mentioned this to the staff member serving breakfast, and she responded positively and advised that additional water would be added to correct the issue.
Overall, breakfast was acceptable, but it did not reflect the quality I normally associate with Holiday Inn Express. Based on this experience, I would rate the breakfast 2.5 out of 5 stars.
I hope this feedback is helpful and supports future improvements, as the excellent service provided by your front desk team made the rest of our stay highly enjoyable.
