Wonderful
Stayed at the Royal Oak a few times before but I had the best room they have and it was really nice and is really worth the little extra money to stay in this room.
Nothing really

Lovely area of the world with fantastic walks for us and our dog. Very dog friendly and food in the pub absolutely fantastic. Staff very friendly and welcoming, and seem to genuinely love working here. Breakfast was delicious with produce from the farm (as is most of the pub menu) including lovely apple juice, delicious sausages and bacon. We stayed in Kate's Folly which is a nice quirky room, very comfortable. We were recommended this place on a previous visit for food and made a point of staying the next time we were in the area as we were so impressed. It has definitely again lived up to expectations.
A little on the pricier side but was excellent value for money I feel so can't complain.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, the bathroom was scrupulously clean, loved the decor in the room, rooms set back from main pub and very quiet, a cosy communal room was available for use, lots of walks available so no need drive anywhere, breakfast is delicious and the evening meal was just divine. I could go on, we loved it

Pleasant
The comfy bed, and coffee
The room smelt damp, and the midges where window had been left open.

This is my second trip to The Royal Oak. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful.
It's lovely having so much Organic food. The breakfasts are delicious.
I only ate once in the evening and the menu had a very good range and more vegetarian options than the last visit.
It is in the middle of great walks including the Ridgeway. The local duck pool is idyllic and I attached a photo
