Wonderful
Room was excitingly quirky, clean and comfortable, but steps were a bit of an issue.
Sunday dinner was truly amazing! (Lamb rump well cooked, well presented and absolutely delicious).
Good breakfast but sel;f service area was a bit shambolic and at a distance from most of the tables.

Wonderful
Beautiful old building, very quirky, especially the deluxe room with leopard print carpets. The staff were so friendly and helpful along with the owner who was as quirky as the hotel.
It was a bit out of the way. But many use it as a base for walking holidays. That’s not my thing but that’s not the hotel’s fault. Breakfast on the first morning was fabulous but not so much on the second, maybe change over of chef? Wouldn’t stop us coming back though.

Very Good
The staff were excellent and the refurbished rooms were too.
The room that we stayed in wasn't refurbished and the mattresses were worn and not comfortable but we needed a ground floor with walk in shower this time so we stayed put. Would definitely stay again if the room has been refurbished or fit enough to use the stairs.

Nice character, well decorated, quiet, breakfast was nice
No air conditioning, couldn’t park as car park was full (quite small), bedding had a large tear in the sheet

Pleasant
Staff all helpful. Nice village and location. Good carpark space. Nice bar area and good breakfast.
TBH I upgraded the room to make it a nice occasion. The room was one of the older rooms, in the apex of the roof and so very hot. It was also immediately above the beer garden. The paint work - especially on the stairs - was sticky and marked and the rooms had a bit of a musky smell.
In fairness there were a number of newer rooms which I'm sure were better and friends had stayed previously and were very positive. I would have just provided this feedback to someone when we left, but no one asked...

Using sachets for coffee, milk and sauces. Too much plastic waste.
