This is a lovely hotel with truly delightful staff. Dawn the receptionist gave excellent assistance with my booking and assigned exactly the right room. She followed up on the initial contact with emails. Jonathon also looked after us well - nothing seemed too much trouble. The disability room was exactly that with ample space, a wet room and even arm chairs. Breakfast was served by charming staff and included quality ingredients. Parking was relatively easy though the Car Park is accessed by a lane beyond the hotel frontage.
We very much liked that it was a short car journey to pick up the Oxford Park and Ride. We also loved Dorchester village itself with the stunning Abbey and walks near the Thames. Henley is close by as are a number of National Trust venues.
The furniture is traditional and in-keeping with the style and age of the building. It is not modern, but we preferred this.

Great location, fantastic staff, big rooms, good breakfast. No elevator but the gentleman at the desk helped us with our luggage

What an absolute Gem this place is!! The rooms are beautiful - ours was decorated in a funky black and white design - our bathroom was really cool too!! Jonathan and his team were all friendly, efficient and couldn’t be more helpful. If there were a 7 out of 5 score - they would get it!!

Location, presentation, staff and breakfast. Really quaint hotel.
Lots of spider webs in the ceiling. Loose and cracked floor tiles in the on suite. The basin in the on suite had a very large crack across it.

Staff were very kind and helpful all along. The building is beautiful inside and out, it obviously has a lot of history.
The room was basic, features were old. This is in contrast with the lobby which I loved.

The welcoming staff are amazing here. Breakfast is great, with attentive staff. We love that our dog is very welcome here.
The room we stayed in this time (room 10) wasn't as lovely as previous rooms we have stayed in.

Friendly and cosy place. Breakfast was excellent. The breakfast room/restaurant is very nice too.
Very convenient for parking.
It is in the centre of picturesque/quaint Dorchester.
It was immaculately clean.
