Smart, clean and comfortable. On a busy road but the sound-proofing was very effective. 15 minute walk to Oxford centre. Free parking on-site.

I was impressed how clean was the room, and the bathroom? Spotless. Me and my husband are very tall, but the room proved to be very confy for us. Quiet and private location, we manage to find some hidden gems around: a shortcut to the Thames Promenade, small shops for quick to go breakfast. We were worried that being quite a character building to not be easy to be liked, but we really enjoy it.

We had a pleasant stay and found the location very convenient. The property is easy to reach from the train station by bus, with a bus stop located right in front of the house.
The host was very accommodating and allowed us to store our luggage both before check-in and after check-out, which made our visit much easier.
Our room was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, we had to leave at 7:00 AM, just as breakfast service began, so we didn't have the opportunity to try it.
The property is about a 10-minute walk from Oxford city centre, making it a great base for exploring the city. Overall, it was a convenient and enjoyable place to stay.

We were warmly welcomed upon arrival. The three-bed room was a good size and perfectly adequate for our stay. The room and bathroom were very clean and nicely updated. The shower was excellent and a real highlight.
The only thing we missed was air conditioning. As the weather was quite warm during our stay, the room became a little warm during the day. Opening the windows was mainly possible at night.

The room was fine, and the location of the Guest House was really nice with regard to being able to access the sites downtown. The front desk personnel were really friendly and willing to solve any issues. One gave us a great heads-up on a pub at which to eat dinner.
Unfortunately, we arrived during the heat wave that hit England in July. Outside temps were easily 95 degrees Fahrenheit or more. The Guest House has no air-conditioning in the rooms, so sleeping was difficult, even with a floor fan.

The location was convenient, close to the bus station and only about 15-minutes from the city centre.
Unfortunately, our stay got off to a bad start. As soon as we parked the car, one of the staff members came over shouting that we couldn’t bring our bags through the back entrance. We weren’t even close to using that entrance, but regardless, it was far from the welcoming experience you expect when arriving at a hotel.
The stay ended on an equally disappointing note. We asked for a 30-minute extension to keep our car in the parking space, but we returned about 10 minutes after the extension had expired. While I understand that we were late and accept responsibility for that, there was no justification for the way we were treated. The same staff member called me “entitled,” shouted at me, and threatened to have my car towed, saying I would have to pay £250.
There is simply no excuse for speaking to guests in such an unprofessional and disrespectful manner. Because of this experience, I would not stay here again, and I am genuinely surprised this property has an 8/10 rating.

The room is well furnished and comfortable. Everything is clean. Impeccable. Location is within walking distance to the city centre. Staff is friendly, communicating well. The price is excellent value for money.

The Sportsview Guesthouse was ideally located, and the on-site parking was an additional bonus. The receptionists were friendly and attentive during our check-in, and gave us tips for exploring in the area. The room was spacious and comfortable. We would stay at this property again.

The staff was outstanding. Very attentive and ensured our understanding of the B&B features, also provided valuable info on surroundings. They accommodated our needs and were extremely helpful to provide info or share recommendations.
Just as a note, stairs are a little small to bring big bags upstairs.

We really appreicated the parking, the decent size of the room with the big windows, and the location on the main drag. We also really liked the in-room coffee and tea facilities, black-out curtains, windows that could open and fan. It was very hot when in Oxford (unseasonably) at about 85 degrees Farenheit, so to open the windows and have a fan was key. There was a view across the street of a sports' field (hence the name), and that was nice to have some green to look at.
The bed was okay, but the pillows were quite uncomfortable. There wasn't much of a front desk. Parking was strict, but we appreicated even having parking. Because it was on a main street, it was a bit loud, but the fan and our own white noise maker helped.
