Exceptional
We loved the location, the staff and the quiet rooms.
I had a little step in my room which was a hazard.

Lovely breakfast and friendly staff. Great location!
Only one part of the shower was working - the handheld part was broken.

Disappointing
The location and the room was warm. Bed was comfortable, chocs were a nice touch. Breakfast was decent and friendly staff.
We stayed in a room at the back which felt a bit of a back up room. It wasn’t what I was expecting. We would have booked The Hotel du Vin, which was a similar price, if I knew what room we’d get. No reception on TV.

Wonderful
Room upgrade to river view, staff at reception and breakfast were very helpful. Luggage storage before check-in and after was ideal. Decor is very attractive.
As an old building sound carries - I could hear the man next door making phone calls late at night and properly hear what he was saying. Not ideal when you want to sleep!

Breakfast was excellent, we had a bar meal for lunch the previous day and cocktails the previous evening. All recent price and very good indeed.
The only criticism I would make is that the carpet in the the lobby and up the steps to the bathroom was quite bold and stripey and the steps coming out of the bathroom were quite difficult to see because they blended in with the carpet in the lobby!!

It was a beautiful building, in a nice location. The bedroom, twin double beds and river view was lovely and fantastically comfy with lovely light, warm duvet and great pillows imo.
Staff were that perfect mix of not full on, but there immediately when needed.
No parking on site, a 5-8minute walk to nearest park, which was great value at £7.20 for 24 hours, but not very convenient .

River, as in the person was exeptional.
We had a rather uncomfortable experience in a hotel that we had originally booked and stayed one night, checked out and then checked into The Relais Henley, River heard our story and was brilliant. He said he wanted the rest of our stay in Henley to be one that we enjoyed, so he made sure that we had an early check in and a room upgrade.
