Wonderful
Lovely cosy place. Nice clean room where everything worked. Comfy bed and pillows, dark and quiet good fur sleep.
Great food in the restaurant. Breakfast was also good. All staff were very friendly and helpful.

The pub is lovely set in a lovely quiet village with great transport links into Oxford. Parking great, bed so comfy, the room was very clean and the bathroom.
The only thing I can say that let it down was how cold the main pub was., could have done with fire bring lit or the heating on. Especially in the morning.
And the net curtains in our room could have done with replacing as they were very tatty compared with the rest of the room. However didn't put me off and would stay again.

Pleasant
The young waiter was attentive and polite despite his inexperience.
I ordered Dinner. It was 30 minutes before it appeared, beautifully presented but such a small portion. Likewise the Full English Breakfast looked nice, but portions were mean. The room was nothing special. Overall I expected more for my money.

The hotel is a short taxi/uber ride into the centre of Oxford. There was parking outside, so you could leave your car there while you explored the area. We had a room out the back and over looking the garden bar, which luckily was quiet the night we were there. Bed comfy and everything nice and clean. The staff were great and the food was delicious.
The room was dark because it had trees quite close (nice to look through), made more dark as the walls were mid grey and floors and curtains dark grey. Would have been easy to make brighter with white walls.

Pleasant
The room was nice and a really quiet area. Lovely staff
The food was disappointing. We chose it based on the pictures of.the food posted here that looked really good.
It's a false advertisement because the food served was a bit below what you would get at a wetherspoons. Steak was well done (asked for medium rare), and most of the stuff served seemed frozen supermarket food thrown in the oven.

Our time at the Black Boy was the perfect overnight stay at a traditional inn. Our room was very warm and comfortable, with a modern en suite bathroom. We also enjoyed drinks and dinner in the bar downstairs in the evening, plus breakfast the following morning - both of which were very good. The neighborhood of the inn is pleasant, and it is also very easy to reach the city of Oxford by bus. Would recommend of a relaxing and enjoyable stay!

Breakfast was ok but we waited 35 minutes for it after ordering. Food was good but nothing spectacular and the bacon was burned. Delicious coffee
Hate the tub in the bathroom. I am pretty agile but couldn’t get in the tub without sliding all over and have a nice bruise on my leg because of it. Never did make it in so had to wash my hair over the edge of the tub. You need grab bars, people!! And something for the bottom of the tub.
Dinner was pretty good and perfect for our last night in England.
Wonderful bed, very comfortable.

It was an adorable B&B like place, the food was amazing and some of the best we had in England!
Initially our room had a lot of cobwebs/dust and found a few spiders but after we told the staff they got two people in right away and cleaned it from top to bottom. That was literally the only complaint.

The Black Boy is an absolutely lovely and charming hotel located about 20 minutes from the heart of Oxford. As first time UK travelers we had to guess on the location and it turned out to be perfect. A short drive away is the incredible Blenheim Palace which should not be missed under any circumstances.
The town of Headington is quite beautiful. Free parking right out front was a real plus as well. The Black Boy is a real winner!
Can’t think of anything.
