Great location right next to the river
Stayed with our dog who was even given a sausage at breakfast from a staff member. Food excellent for the money we payed I can not complain
The hotel needs some decorating in places and generally tidying up

Great location with the lawn running down to the river. Good non-greasy english breakfast. Room and ensuite in very good condition.
Corridor areas starting to look tired. Some road noise.

Good
Location and staff beyond excellent! So warm and friendly and a beautiful location. Bar area was clean and tidy.
Our room was clean but furnishings had worn out and room was in urgent need of overhaul. No coffee in room although about 100 tea bags and an equal amount of milk sachets?
Some parts of the hotel are in need of urgent investment.
Breakfast was served cold, not what I expected from a cooked full english. Lack of attention to detail, like no sauces etc on tables meant you had to go looking.
The staff were all lovely but really overworked and struggled to keep up.

The river & boats in front although we didn't have that view from the bedroom.
Friendly staff, very helpful.
Lovely breakfast and evening meal, you can't fault the choice.
A good stopping off point for onward travel to the south coast.
Bedrooms could do with a refresh, looking a bit tired.
The view from the bedroom window looking out on to a flat roof was a bit disappointing.

Convenient mooring for small boat. Good breakfast.
Failed bulb in bedroom. No hooks in bathroom and light position so reflection in mirror is in shadow.

Wonderful
Location was beautiful, a truly amazing position with wonderful views. Rooms very clean, a little dated in design but everything was in excellent condition. Great to have a good restaurant with a good choice of meals. Staff very friendly.
As you would expect, not all rooms are front, river facing, would have been good to wake up to a river view, but it was good to have breakfast overlooking this spectacular scenery.

Disappointing
Great location and good food
Hotel was tired. Room was in poor state decoration way. In the hotel windows had rotten window frames and was dirty in places. 2 days before our stay we received an email to say on the Saturday night no food would be available because they had a wedding booking. We decided to go home instead!

Very Good
The setting and the room was quiet and breakfast was good
Our tv wasn’t working well and we hoped to watch a World Cup game.We mentioned it and eventually were told someone had looked at it and nothing could be done.Frustrating and we kept expecting someone to come to look at it.

Poor
Lovely view of the river.
The room smelt damp, the bedding smelt damp, spiders everywhere and the restaurant wasn’t serving in the evening. Breakfast included didn’t offer a vegetarian alternative on the menu but when our orders were taken I mentioned there was nothing I could eat, she said she’d check with the cook to see if they had any veggie sausages which they did. The property is in desperate need of a significant amount of work. Tired and worn.
