Very Good
Beautiful, old and old hotel, tastefully decorated. Very comfortable rooms and lovely food. The location is central with parking (so hard to find in Oxford!). It is one of my favourite hotels.
I was disappointed with the booking process which involved me calling the hotel several times for them only to get the reservation wrong (with the table booking). We had booked out 5 double rooms and spent a lot of money so I was disappointed they did not ring me to suggest we book an outside table for our evening reservation (the weather was unseasonably warm and perfect for Al Fresco dining)
After I insisted they found a table for us.
Finally, I made it clear at least twice that we were celebrating with the family our son's 40th birthday. It would have added the finishing touch if the restaurant had brought a token birthday pudding/ cake. In other words, the attention to detail was lacking.

Exceptional
The hotel service was wonderful! Our Room was amazing, with the small balcony and spotless. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel and they all were fantastic! The Old Parconage Hotel is one of the best we have stayed at! Highly recommended!

Wonderful
Clean, comfortable and the most delicious biscuits. The restaurant serves delicious food.
The stairs are a bit tricky if your knees aren’t up to it, or if you have lots of luggage.

Wonderful
Room was upgraded and very comfortable and stylish. Breakfast fresh with good variety of options. The Breakfast/Dining area is elegant and comfortable. Love all the artwork throughout the hotel. Staff helpful. Charming hotel and front patio lovely to sit out and enjoy dinner or have a cocktail.

Pleasant
Excellent location and promise of parking. Comfortable bed and good bathroom.
The designated parking space wasn’t there when we arrived. This was a nuisance and the Receptionist had to come out to find us somewhere else to park until the Hotel could subsequently move our car.
There was a slug in our bathroom, which was removed.
The room price was very high for midweek in April. Breakfast cost £30 each, so we went elsewhere.
As we left we were asked to add a 5% room service tip on top of the £345 we had already paid for the night. While voluntary, this seemed like price gouging, particularly when the receptionist unjustifiably claimed it is now normal in the industry. First time I’ve come across it.
