Shower drain was not working and it flooded the carpet; hotel then attempted to charge me for damages through no fault of my own.

Very Poor
It is too expensive for a small room like that, and it has no facilities.
No lift, and have to carry the luggage to first floor. Everything is old in the room.

Disappointing
Good shower.
In town
One bed was bad. Mattress seemed broken.
No soap in shower.
TV didn’t work.
Harassing messages and phone calls from reception to check in quickly, with threat of cancellation, because he had a party to go to.

Disappointing
Pros: great location, nice staff, clean sheets, bathroom that looked like it had been renovated in recent years
Cons: If I had paid $100 for the room, I would think, "Okay, I overpaid for this room but it's in expensive city" and move on. But the fact I paid $220 for this room is a travesty of justice and hands down the worst value for money I have ever paid for a hotel room anywhere - and I have traveled throughout the world. The room was threadbare bargain style - carpet ripped and peeling up from the floors, thin towels, a mattress so old and used that it collapsed when sitting on it, such that it felt like sitting on a board. I don't have back problems but I woke up with pain and kinks up and down my back. You can't charge over $200/night and make people sleep on mattresses that seem like they were pulled from the rubbish.

Disappointing
The hotel is close to shopping, the theatre and eateries.
1.Unfortunately there is no parking so you have to use the open air public car park in Worcester Street (at the bottom of George St) which is very expensive at £42 for 24hrs stay.
2. Make sure you bring a pull along case even if it's only overnight as it is a bit of a walk from the car park
3. The front of the building doesn't advertise the property adequately. I had to ask in a nearby shop for directions.
4. Once you gain access you are met with a damp smell in the stairwell, all the way up the stairs and into the actual room.
5. If you have difficulty climbing stairs this isn't the hotel for you.
6. Although the room appeared clean at first glance, it smelt damp and the toilet added a sewerage element to the existing odour. The cleaner had just finished cleaning the room as we walked in and I could hardly breath due to the amount of air freshener she had sprayed. She had also opened all the windows, I can only assume to help mask the smell of the toilet cistern.
7. The windows don't cancel out the noise on the street, they may as well have remained open all night. Due to the number of pubs and eateries on George Street I was unable to sleep until gone 2.00am (this was a Thursday, so it would probably have been even later on a weekend). I would advise requesting a room facing the back.
8. The curtains don't block any of the street lights so the room was lite all night.
9. The beds desperately require new mattresses, the mattress on one bed was actually leaning to the side.
10. The bedding on one of the beds smelt greasy and you could see black spots on the pillowcase.

Location is amazing!
Lots of restaurants, pubs, shopping and attractions within walking distance!
Friendly staff
Front door kept locked (buzzer to get in when checking in and room key has second key that unlocks front door)
Walking distance to the train
No air conditioning (am aware that a lot of the UK doesn't but we happened to be there during a heat wave)
No possibility of getting a second fan (tabletop or floor)
Bathroom was small, felt cramped
No safe to store valuables

Disappointing
Room was quiet as we were in the back. Location is excellent, easy way from the station and close to the university buildings. Good shower.
Room is very small & rundown, carpets are seedy, mattress felt worn out, .. we were glad to be in the back as it was quiet but there was standing water on the roof next to our window and since there was a roof just outside our window, we kept the window shut when we left the room so it was rather stuffy (no AC).
Far too expensive for a rather shabby hotel.

Well located, in the heart of Oxford, close to everything
1) I arrived with luggage and back problems. Reception is on the second floor however. Nobody came down to help me with my luggage
2) I needed an iron and ironing board. It was past 10pm because of my arrival time. Concierge was pissed that I bothered him. He still obliged, for which I am thankful, and then proceeded to walk out from behind his desk... he was barefoot, rubbing his toes into the carpeting. I was like "no wonder this place smells like ass!!!"
3) Noise from neighbors. Paper thin walls. First two nights neighbors were up making noise until 3am

Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Location is also very convenient.
Cheap soft Mattress.
Cheap bedding made from non-breathable material.
Sheets not fitted.
Limited plug sockets (2 total) none by beds.
Ventilator not working in bathroom.
Room smelt damp upon entry.
One plug socket under desk coming away from wall - potential hazard.
Everything felt tired and in need of renewal.
