Wonderful
Basic breakfast, on the outskirts of Summertown but still only a 20 min walk into central or a 5 min bus. Excellent stay on a budget.
For the price, nothing. Don't expect a fancy hotel, it's a nice, cheap and cheerful B and B.

Disappointing
I chose this place largely because of its location and it was very convenient for my particular purposes. The landlady was friendly.
From the moment I stood at the front door, I felt that the place had seen better times. The door was scruffy and in need of a lick of paint - as was the whole interior. My room - a VERY compact (poky) single on the top floor - was badly in need of some TLC and re-decorating. While it was superficially clean, it sort of felt as if it hadn't been really thoroughly cleaned for ages. The bathroom was functional but also scruffy and there were weird noises from the plumbing throughout my stay.

Excellent location, comfy beds, nice atmosphere
The shower temperature controls were fidgety. Breakfast could have been better.

Disappointing
friendly staff responded to my requests. Bathroom well stocked with shower gel, shampoo & body creme. Breakfast well stocked with alternatives, but only cows milk available. I perfer nut or oat milk
former guests towels left in room when I arrived. I put them outside the room. Room was grubby with old cushions on bed & an old blanket on lower half of bed. Towels were clean but old

Poor
Unfortunately the shower drain was blocked so the water pooled, the bathroom smelt of drains.the water was not hot at times. The room was extremely dusty.
The location and price are great but I am not sure I would stay there again due to the dust

Pleasant
Location was close to town for what we needed, but not too close making it easy to access and travel in and out of Oxford
Room was small, the beds weren’t the most comfortable and breakfast very basic. Woke up after a very restless night, hungry with options of cereal and toast - wasn’t most satisfying.

The staff is very welcoming. The shared dining area is relaxing, the small buffet for breakfast is fine for the price. There were tea, coffee, milk, bread, jam, butter, cereals, yoghurt, juice, fruit that you can choose from for your breakfast.
I appreciated that even I requested a little late(1hr before our arrival) for a small birthday greeting for my husband, the staff really put time and effort for this. A birthday card in an envelope addressing my husband's name and with 2packs(6pcs)of Ferrero chocolates is laid on our bed that really made my husband glad.

Very Good
Summertown shops area is great. The breakfast was better than expected, and they left fruit out all day. The staff were all friendly. My room was the cheapest, and small, but had everything I needed (towels, kettle, tele, refreshed the coffee and tea).
My room a bit of a fusty smell. The window was a skylight, so no view outside. The towels couldn’t dry, and they weren’t changed.

The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was good. Location was a 10-15 bus ride from the city center with several shops and restaurants nearby.
Very dated and needs some upkeep. Some fresh paint and dusting in overlooked areas would go a long way. Be aware that there is a cat on the premises and was in the building while I stayed here.

Good
Communications with Guest House staff was good. It was easy to find and (free) parking was available at the front (two spaces were available). We checked in at 12noon and checked out at the same time the next day. It takes about 25-30 mins to walk into the centre of Oxford from the Guest House. It's a long(ish) way but beats having to run the gauntlet of Zero Emission Zones and city centre car parks. From a location point of view therefore it wins top marks. The Guest House itself is a little tired looking but the rooms were clean enough. In terms of value for money it is great, especially given it included parking and breakfast. We did not sample the breakfast as we were too full from the previous night's meal. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, I would rate this Guest House as good. Great location and good value for money.
The rooms and facade could do with updating from a decor point of view but you get what you pay for. I was not expecting the Ritz so I am not complaining.

Pleasant
Location was convenient. A bus ride into town took less than 15 minutes, and the owners kindly allowed us to leave car in the driveway after check-out for half a day. There were 2 parking spaces in front of the B&B so parking could potentially become a problem during peak times.
Booked the place because breakfast sounded appealing but turned out to be a very basic continental breakfast. Property was old and bed not very comfortable though the room was quiet as it faced away from the busy road.
