The property itself was beautiful. However room 403 was extremely dusty. There was a wedding at the venue so we felt we couldn’t make a fuss as staff would be busy. But given the location and reception area was all very clean. We were utterly shocked and the poor cleanliness of our room
403 not only being extremely dusty and have cobwebs around the room. The door on entry of the room nearly caused an accident to myself as the bathroom door acted like a barrier to the rooms entrance and made the room door bounce back onto myself.

Gents toilet facilities on upper floor with no lift access
Disabled toilet to far from bar restaurant
Staff rude and complaining about other staff members

Reasonable breakfast.
The hotel is a lovely old building but appears to be a little uncared for. The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired especially in the bedroom. The room was shabby and unwelcoming, the bed was uncomfortable and the room was in desperate need of a deep clean. Not as advertised and extremely overpriced for what was on offer.

I did enjoy the pool and how big the outside area is for our night time walks.
There were cobwebs on the windows badly, and some areas hadn't been cleaned in a while

Disappointing
The room was very small, up a steep narrow flight of stairs and there were quite a few cobwebs visible in the corners of the room etc. Just didnt feel up to standard. The guests in my "adjoining room" were noisy throughout the night, and whilst thats not directly the hotels fault, assigning me this particular adjoining room as a regular guest at the hotel was frustrating.

Stunning grounds. Clean & Cosy Room.
Staff were incredibly helpful.
Wasn’t inform at time of check-in that there was a function being held on the Saturday Night. Very loud from my room which made it very difficult to sleep that night.

Unfortunately the first room we were given was extremely dirty and smelt very damp. The whole building needs a deep clean and updating. Definitely wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t stay again.

Stunning location and lovely hotel
Our room was spotless but very hot and unable to open the window. The evening meal was excellent but it found the breakfast a little to greasy. Very relaxed atmosphere
