Wonderful
Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely historical building which has not lost it's charm as a hotel. Lovely bar area to relax with a huge original fire place. Quite a privilege to stay in such a building.
Only a minor point was that the bike racks were uncovered in the rear car park and no alternative offered. This hotel is on the popular Rebellion Way route so must have lots of cyclists stay. A shame there wasn't a dinner option on Sunday eve but that's uncommon in the UK.

I would have liked a bit more selection at breakfast than just toast, such as some Croissants or Danish Pastries.

Very comfortable room, while it (and whole hotel) was full of character thanks to historic features.

The staff were all very friendly and quick to respond to everything, the building was beautiful. Loved the wonky stairs and upstairs corridors.
The bed was too soft for us and the shower was a little claustrophobic

Wonderful
Check in went without a hitch and George the manager is a really excellent host and asset to the hotel. Bedrooms were in a detached outbuilding accessed through a quirky archway. The rooms were spacious enough and comfortable. Bathrooms were functional with plenty of hot water. With just one other pub in the village the sensible option was to eat at the Greek Restaurant in the hotel. Despite the captive location the prices were reasonable and the food was excellent. Ebikes could be stored within the bedroom but we were assured they were safe left outside because "this is Norfolk". Indeed they were as evidenced by their still being there in the morning. The huge car parks became jammed full by 9pm such was the popularity of this hotel.
The Ouzo was mixed with too much water. Otherwise nothing not to like.

Very Good
Beautiful building, steeped in history. Loved all the original features and the sympathetic decor. Understandably for a busy hotel, there are more modern pieces (plastic plants) but still a very welcoming, warm, comfortable place. We stayed for 5 nights and our experience/breakfast varied greatly over that time depending on staff rosters and number of guests staying. The first night we stayed was noisy as the sound from the guests in the bar seemed to travel up the chimney and the next morning's continental breakfast selection had all but run out by 8.30am, The single member of wait staff was struggling but the Full English was beautifully cooked, as it was every morning even though the ingredients differed slightly. Some mornings our bed wasn't made and one day we had no tea/milk replenishment but towels were always fresh and clean. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful - just very busy.
Bed was a little hard for our taste with no extra padding to help with the mattress dimples, there was no sign of the specified hairdryer and the bathroom was struggling (as to be expected in an old building) eg: the shower runs from boiling to cold in the morning (peak demand) so we just picked our moments to be under the water; the extractor fan was broken and basin could do with a plunger to help with the waste flow. But none of these things spoilt the overall experience of this beautiful building. WE WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN!

Clean, atmosphere
Mattress was worn out and sagged at the edge. Friends had attic room where the shower was impossible to stand in. Bathrooms were clean but not up to modern standards.

An old coaching house set back from the main road from Diss to Norwich. Set in a quiet village with a pub 2 minutes walk away. There is ample parking on site which is set securely behind the hotel. The 'front of house' staff appeared to be just one person in the afternoon, that being George, who was excellent at juggling being on Reception, greeting guests, serving drinks and taking food orders. Very affable young man with a great work ethic and very pleasant, helpful demeanour. The kitchen serves up some good food too.
I think George could use some help ! It was a Sunday evening but the hotel was quite busy. This is a value option to stay at. A lovely building with main house and annex rooms, but looking tired and little neglected at the moment, particularly around the garden and outbuilding areas. I'd choose to stay in the main house if you can. Note: last orders for food is 8.30pm.

My visit to Scole Inn, Norfolk was fantastic. Everything went well. The building was amazing. The staff were just delightful, couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Lovely relaxed and relaxing. Cleanliness was superb. The room was just lovely. The breakfast was great. I felt like I was staying in five star luxury at a very affordable price. Very good value for money. Would recommend to anyone who wants something slightly different and a bit quirky. Can't rate this highly enough.
Can't think of anything.

A charming ancient building that is quite comfortable for its age. Free parking on site.
The hand shower was loose and flopped down making showering difficult. We were advised not to drink the tap water.

Clean and comfortable with a great location from our perspective. We have family nearby.
Our room was more than satisfactory, but they were a few difficulties. The blind in the room did not open at all – it did not affect us as we were out with family both days. We could also not get the coffee machine to work and there were no instructions. We needed to leave early on the last day (7:30 am) and that we were offered a Box snack breakfast or something similar but when we asked at breakfast the day before we were told this wasn’t possible. Also, at breakfast the day before the coffee machine didn’t work and the coffee urn was also not switched on.
