Breakfast and dinner were both very good here. The room was clean and comfortable with a modern and well-designed en-suite. Staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. A very pleasant stay overall.

It was unique and tucked away with a community feel and not like a the chains of hotels
It was quite noisy at night. There was live music until 11.30 and our room was right above. Not a complaint really though it’s a pub so events etc would be expected. But after a long day we just wanted to chill out in our room, but had to turn the tv up to try and drown out the noise.

The staff were amazing the breakfast was great .
We had our dog with us, I thought the room could have been better, and when I saw the room our friends had, I thought our room was poor ( and possibly a room allocated for people with a dog), not able to reach the switch for the bedside lights, lots of leads in one corner of the room, mould on the sealant in the bathroom, room not
really large enough for us and our dog, I did mention when booking that I hoped the room would be large enough,

We love the area and the setting of the pub itself/ the food is always great and staff are helpful and friendly
Very uncomfortable bed, poorly maintained room, damp and black mould in bedroom and black mould all over the shower area

Lovely pub. Staff very friendly and pleasant. Food was great. We had Sunday lunch and breakfast.Food delicious and hot. Plenty to eat and drink. We enjoyed our stay very much. We also received a complimentary upgrade as we were the only guests booked in for the date we chose. Thank you to everyone at The Royal Oak.

The location was ideal for a family get together. The room was perfect for an overnight stay. We had a table in the restaurant for 11 and were made extremely welcome. The breakfast was sensational.
The WiFi was a bit temperamental but did not detract from the stay

The staff went out of their way when responding to our requests. We utilised the restaurant for both breakfast and two evening meals and the food was excellent and reasonably priced.
The bed in our room could do with being replaced as my back did suffer.

A very warm welcome on arrival. Simon carried my case to my quiet, charming room. Graham served my delicious breakfast the following morning, was easy to chat with and delivered ironing equipment to my room. My case was carried downstairs again upon my departure.
