The staff were all so friendly and helpful, particularly Lawrence (who managed to get us an amazing room upgrade), and the reception staff who checked us out. The beds are so comfortable.
There were a couple of things missing from our in-room breakfast and the hot drinks were a bit cold.

It was different and pleasant
Unfortunately Saturday was Womens Day and there was a large function. The food in the Restaurant could have been better. They run out of Champagne! Never heard of a Hotel or Restaurant running out of Champagne!

Breakfast was very good, although monitoring items such as scrambled eggs before they turn green in the chafing dishes or back bacon getting too dry would have made it perfect.

Booked a table for dinner to make sure before I then booked the room , no restaurant booking when I arrived ! but luckily restaurant had a table .

The sea bass served was overcooked and minuscule. Wedding guests blocked the bar and the route to the dining room

Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice and food of a good quality. Had an evening meal in the restaurant, included in the price of the room rate. Food was excellent and again the choice was very good.
Nothing, would stay again when in the area.

The whole experience at this lovely old hotel was great. Once inside you would not realise this is a very old building as it decorated to a high specification with elements of period features. The room was comfortable with air conditioning. The bed was amazing with a duck down feather mattress topper which has led us to look for one for home.
There was nothing we didn't like at all. If I was to point out one thing, there isn't a lift. This is obviously due to the age of the building not being suitable for one to be fitted. This in no way affected our stay but needs to be considered for less mobile guests. I'm sure they will accommodate guests who cannot climb stairs if this was required.

Breakfast was excellent. We had decided against buying breakfast at the price of 17.50 per person, but accepted a reduced price of 10 on our arrival and were glad we did. The hotel's setting is beautiful - we enjoyed it immensely. Great bathroom facilities, widescreen TV, comfortable beds. Helpful staff. Great to have early time for arrival and late time for departure.
The room stayed uncomfortably warm overnight.
