Disappointing
The price was reasonable
The staff at reception when we checked in were really rude and abrupt. The interior of the location is like a maze with no real direction as to where things are.

My midday checkout which was very helpful as I work knights.
Cleaners entering my room when sleeping as I'm a night shift worker. And messages were not passed on from reception to cleaning team . Reference my mid-day check out.

Wonderful
Very clean room and nice food
Hard bed (personal preference) breakfast food could do with being a bit hotter if possible.

Very Good
The free parking
The pillows were flat and not enough. The room is smaller than the pictures and the bathroom wall tiles have black mold

Very Poor
Staff were excellent, room comfortable, breakfast was very good, could have been hotter food though. Parking was easy. TV worked, room was clean except for some black around the corner of the bath.
This is where I was not happy at all. The conference was running a booking for a Healing group. I watched the TV on Saturday night, put my head down at around 10.30pm. I couldn't get to sleep at all because of other users making so much noise as they waled back to their rooms near me. The constant loud talking, and general chit chat carried on till 2am in the morning, at this point I went to reception to make a complaint. Whist walking to the reception, there were people in the garden/seating area smoking....but the stench of drugs came into the connecting walk ways to reception. This was totally unacceptable and made me feel sick. I asked for a refund to the receptionist and would do this around 7.30am. At this point I returned to Room 43 Heron House accommodation block. The noise carried on till 3.30am, I eventually fell asleep, feeling absolutely shattered. I wouldn't stay at this conference centre again, people staying there have no consideration for those that have paid for a peaceful night. And as for the smoking of drugs, it's not a place for anyone who is normal to stay here, let alone to take children here. So disappointed. I also called the Police about the drugs.

Good
Room was clean and comforatable although a bit dated and smaller than expected. Was perfectly acceptable though. There were some strange knockin noises at night which I assume was the heating system

Value for money. Situation. Staff and excellent breakfast!
Pillows were like bricks and I couldn't open the ground floor windows. No air con so I'd imagine this room (44) would be unbearably hot in the summer

Very Good
Whilst it’s not brand new and swanky, it’s really comfy, staff are great and the gym and spa are better than some 4* places
Food really lets itself down - expensive and poor quality food

Poor
Heating, the room was cold.
The room was basic, no frills, and small. Difficult for two people used to sharing.
Food was like at school.

Wonderful
Good parking in quiet area. Friendly staff and lovely buffet food with good portion size. Also rooms have baths.
Some people leaving early not respecting other guests and banging their doors when leaving.
Maybe some signs being displayed may help these types of people to have some courtesy and respect.

Very Good
Rooms had baths and very good air con. Good buffet food choices.
Noisy doors to enter the rooms which were fine when handled gently but noisy when opened & closed by some people..waking me up when in bed. Easily sorted with some foam pads on doors or frames.

Fair
Double room was very small, bed sheets were good. But bath tubs had like little burn marks in it and taps were rusty. The ironing boards in the ironing room were filthy with dirt.
Room cleaners were going around banging that loud on all the doors in the morning that it startled me. And yet theres door tags fot that. Why do they need to bang so loud onall the doors if they haven’t out the door tag out. That’s what they are for isn’t it.
Leisure centre was alright but not on the main site.
Overall it was comfortable enough but still lots of room for improvement.

The room is clean and comfortable, not very fancy but fair for the price. The location is excellent for the Open University. The breakfast is generous and tasty.
The dinner is rather overpriced for what it is.

Exceptional
The price and the simplicity of booking it and getting in the room ?no hassle at all it's my number one hotel
It's cold in the room
It's difficult to find as it does not look like a hotel and there are no internal signs on the estate directing you to it!
