The Hotel room was clean and tidy
It was very noisy with little sound insulation. Conversation in the hallway was easily heard in our room. Bed was rock solid and really uncomfortable. Heating was awful either freezing or boiling with heater facing directly into the bed. There was no way to shower without flooding the bathroom floor. Room service didn’t turn up when we’d left the door hanger out as instructed with our order. Staff were really rude and unhelpful when we let them know about these issues. They literally just stood and stared at us until we left.

The property was in a great location for where we were visiting on the weekend. The staff were all amazing, polite and courteous and always had a smile on their faces.
We were on 2nd floor which is fine. I am a wheelchair user and all the doors on that floor had to be held open for me to go through. Because the magnetic doors weren’t working, I was unable to open these doors and get through, I had to make sure someone came with me to get to the lift.
Also the first night we were there, it felt really cold. When we went for food they kindly put on an electric fire for us, which was a big help, as I was shivering. The second night, they had put quite a few of the heaters around the place, so was much warmer. Probably have a problem with the heating system, but I think that should have been explained to us. Thank goodness it’s a mild winter. I get very cold though as I have cancer and the hotel was a little too cold for me.

Lovely reception area, very modern and an excellent breakfast in the restaurant.
Twin room was comfortable and modern. However, TV mounted on wall but cables hanging down underneath. Looked unfinished. Noted there was a step into the bathroom from the hallway but it didnt stop me tripping on it later on and banging my toe. No idea why the step is so high, this needs to be sorted as it is a trip hazard. We put the bathroom mat over the step to prevent tripping.

It was in the area we needed to be.
The hotel felt cold and impersonal, we were greeted unenthusiastically, and the music playing in the bar was awful and too loud for us to be able to have a conversation.
The bedroom was small and the bed was uncomfortable.
The fire doors in the corridor outside our room closing loudly were a constant source of disturbance throughout the night.
The carpet in the corridor was loose and potentially dangerous.
The breakfast buffet was decimated by a large group who arrived shortly before we did, leaving very little choice of anything I would have wanted to eat, and no time to wait for it to be replenished before I had to leave for work.
Overall it was a disappointing stay, and we are unlikely to return.

Beef was comfortable and slept very well.
Breakfast tasted like it had been sat out for a long while, that being said we did go for breakfast a bit later than usual.

Nice and clean as it always is.
We had NO USABLE HEATING in our room. I reported it via a message before bed, and again on checking out and was told I would be contacted to discuss a refund or better future deals; neither of these have happened. A small spare heater was in the room, so it is clearly a known problem with this room. I had to wear a sweater in bed, it was that cold. See photo of heater.
We do use this hotel a few times throughout the year but want this resolved before we do so again.
No white coffee varieties available at breakfast, other than adding milk to Americano, small worry compared to the heating issue.

Good location. Young bar man very helpful. Room adequate.
Heating in main hotel broken. Front door broken. Cleaner didn’t clean mugs. Coffee machine at breakfast limited to only black coffee. Lack of attention to detail at check, no credit card taken, no information re breakfast timings etc. when asked by receptionist how was your stay, wasn’t really interested.

Nice clean decent-sized room. Reasonably comfortable bed.
Bar area was listed on the hotel website as being open 24/7. It wasn't, and closed at 11:30. This could be a serious limitation of you want to drink or eat, as there is nothing else around.
