Second visit to YHA Manchester. Location is very central to the city within a 15 minute walk. Staff were really friendly, car parking was £5 for 24 hours which was great! Had a self catering kitchen you could use and entertainment such as Sky Sports, pool, and board games. Rooms were a good size and perfect for a night or two.
No shower gel in the showers, also no towels so bring your own (they do warn you about this)

Would benefit from curtains on beds
A mixed dorm option would be really great to be more inclusive of trans guests, when I booked there was no indication of whether I would be allowed into the dorm I booked (different to what my ID’s gender marker states) which was something I was concerned about in the lead up
Either a clear expectation about this being written in the booking policy or possibly considering mixed dorms as an option could be a good idea to make this hostel more inclusive - I didn’t feel unwelcome but didn’t feel entirely safe during my stay

It is a very nice building and clean. The location is great and the facilities very good.
Although I connected my laptop to the internet to do some work, it was quite slow at times.
