Location is perfect near lots of places to eat and Oxford road train station
The building itself is so beautiful
The social hour the hotel does between 5-6pm was a really nice touch.

Amazing service from all staff. Free upgrade to the room was above and beyond and most welcome. The balloons were there as requested on arrival and also a bottle of wine which was a nice extra. Awesome building and room. The social hour was a pleasant extra. Breakfast was delicious.
Air conditioning in the room... it was hard to find the control and then operating was hit and miss - didnt seem to work at first. It was too cold on arrival!
When returning to the room on one occasion the interior security latch stopped us getting back in the room! Only way to re enter the room was for an engineer to hammer off the latch!
Breakfast was delicious but let down because it was a little cold!

The hotel is very noisy. At midnight below me it sounded as though tables were being moved and dragged.
Doors slamming all night and any noise really travelled.
Air conditioning in the room was not working. The room was exceptionally hot. This was not helped by a towel rail constantly on and windowed that would not open, even and inch.
I requested the air conditioning to be fixed but it was not. I believe, even though you have a controller in your room, it is all on a master one controlled by the hotel

The hotel is a history time capsule with plenty of interesting nooks, crannies and architecture. A well-preserved and looked after hotel. Simply beautiful. The staff are excellent! Very accommodating, professional, friendly and welcoming. I cannot fault the service AT ALL. Loved the gym - the only quiet, peaceful place in the hotel besides the bedroom.
The room was spacious but the bed not very comfortable. Not much storage for clothing and I had to ask for extra hangers, but there is no where to store your hosiery items and fold-up clothing. No drawers. The decor is not very functional and just there for aesthetic purposes. The room is not practical. No dressing table to sit at. This is a party town so if you're looking for peace, you won't find it here. The only respite from the constant noisy music is a brief calm between 0600-1100 during breakfast before the DJ arrives and it all starts over again. I found this a little disruptive as there is no where to go and sit quietly in this hotel. It is a venue for functions 24/7.

The hotel was amazing, my 9 year old absolutely loved the beds and the yoga mat. We couldn't fault the hotel at all
The only downside was our room was at the front of the hotel so we heard all the noise from the pub opposite (until 3am) we would have preferred a room away from the road especially with having a 9 year old with us.
