Stunning and grand lobby – truly impressive architecture and atmosphere

The building was beautiful! The room was really spacious and very close to the centre and transport links. Staff were all lovely and very helpful. The bar area was nice and the breakfast was delicious. I was hesitant to stay given there were many reviews noting the noise at night, but we experienced hardly any despite being on the first floor facing the busy road on a bank holiday weekend!
The bed was a tad hard for our preference and I personally had trouble sleeping due to the thickness of the pillows. I mentioned this to the team and within 10 minutes the issue was resolved. This is obviously preference-based, but if you prefer lower pillows and struggle sleeping without one, I would recommend bringing one of your own. I would like to note that this would likely be the case for me personally no matter which hotel I stay in, so should not be interpreted as an issue specific to this hotel. Overall we had an amazing stay and would happily go back!

Lovely lady on reception greeted us. We had a room for three adults, two double beds and there was plenty of space, gorgeous high ceiling with a lovely bathroom. Plenty of pillows, lovely white linen and beds firm enough for me. I could have done with sachets of ordinary coffee. We loved the offer of a complementary drink in the evening thank you, and were served by very polite staff. The hotel reception and breakfast room are exceptional, so full of character. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and cooked lovely. We also appreciated the close proximity of a secure car park and the reduced fee. Will definitely stay again.

Staff friendly and helpful, breakfast good quality . The Bar has a great feel to it and as with the hotel lots of character.
Position of the hotel is fantastic for a Manchester stay, just across the road from Oxford st train station.
Probably not got the best room for us though I appreciate others would be fine with it . It was at the back and felt quite claustrophobic as it was high ceiling / narrow without a view . The room temp control was an issue . It would be good to have instructions as we had to ask the desk to come in and set it due bro the room being hot .It’s a soft touch so if you don’t know where to press it’s difficult to know how to set it.
Would come again but book a room with a street view.

The decor and grandeur of the building was stunning. There was a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very professional, polite and helpful throughout our stay. The food at dinner and at breakfast was very nice and good value for money. Our room was a reasonable size for a one night stay and even though it was in the lower ground floor, it was light and airy in the room and in the corridors. There was a magnificent horse in the entrance hall and an impressive staircase up to the clock tower. Perfectly located for Manchester Oxford road train station. Will definitely stay here again.
