Providing a fine dining experience, Adam Reid at The French has won 4 AA Rosettes. The bespoke menus offer creative dishes, which are freshly prepared using locally sourced produce where possible. Open seven days a week, guests can also enjoy a selection of light meals from our breakfast, lunch and evening menu. Traditional afternoon tea is available in the Tea Room at The Midland. The Rena spa includes the aromatherapy steam room, beautiful Alder-Wood sauna and refreshing Arctic rain shower. The hotel was beautiful and the staff were lovely. It is expensive but the price reflects the standard of the rooms. The location was great, very easy to reach most things in the city centre.
This is just a little thing, there were exactly four sugars and no biscuits - thought they would be more generous with those things, but not a big deal.

Great location
Paid extra for a superior room but room was very small and bath was broken. Room was not of the standard as offered. Main areas in hotel were fab beautiful but room was not of the standard for a superior room.

The room was beautiful. The staff were attentive and made me feel comfortable. Very close to city centre.
The heating wasn’t working properly in the room so they had to bring a portable one and there was a stain on the carpet but it wasn’t that bad but there was also a slime like think that was stuck on the ceiling which I would assume that there was a child who was previously in the room also, how the spa operates was disappointing because you have to sit till you get there to hook a slot which is ridiculous because people who already stayed there fully booked the spa and when it was my turn to check in I didn’t even have to option to do so. So in the future I think booking online or over the phone should be a choice too not just having to wait till you check in so that the know your room number.
