The Midland is an award-winning, 4-star luxury hotel with a spa in Manchester city center. It offers stylish, air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. Providing a fine dining experience, Adam Reid at The French has won 4 AA Rosettes. The bespoke menus offer creative dishes, which are freshly prepared using locally sourced produce where possible. Lounge & Champagne bar offers an extensive drinks menu with exciting cocktails, fine wines and local beers. Open seven days a week, guests can also enjoy a selection of light meals from our breakfast, lunch and evening menu. Traditional afternoon tea is available in the Tea Room at The Midland. Hotel guests can make use of The Rena Spa At The Midland's relaxation pool and thermal areas, for an extra charge. The Rena spa includes the aromatherapy steam room, beautiful Alder-Wood sauna and refreshing Arctic rain shower. The Midland is less than 1312 feet from Bridgewater Hall, the Palace Theater and Manchester Central Exhibition and Conference Center. The city's shops and bars are a 10-minute walk away. All Spa visits must be pre-booked and paid for in advance via the secure link provided in your confirmation email prior to arrival and are subject to availability. We kindly recommend reserving ahead of arrival, as on-the-day bookings may not be available. Spa access is priced at £10 per adult, with children swimming complimentary, subject to a booking on availability. This includes strictly 1 hour access to the thermal suite, featuring the pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and thermal shower. Lockers are available for your convenience. Please note all payments are nonrefundable. For guests arriving with children, swimming hours are limited to 7:30am – 9:00am and 5:30pm – 7:00pm daily. Guests under 18 are not permitted to use the pool outside of these times, and must be accompanied and actively supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Please note the Gymnasium is available to use upon arrival and does not require a pre-booking with us.

Lovely spacious rooms and amazing staff.
The only thing I can fault is that the policy has changed for use of the pool and there is now a fee when a year or so ago it was complimentary. I didn’t go/pay on principle. Please don’t turn into Ryan air where everything is paid as an extra.

Location and prestige are top.
Unfortunately the room was the temperature of a sauna and the a/c unit did nothing to help. The staff did supple a fan - but when we turned it on, there was more dust in the room than could cope with. We complained and got a free breakfast, which was appreciated, but doesn’t really resolve the issue and based on the cost per night, not really acceptable.

Overall, the hotel lets you experience Manchester's history. Its close proximity to the tram station and the city center, just a few minutes' walk away, is great, as are the many nearby attractions, such as the town hall and the convention center. Besides that, the employees were friendly and helped us with early check-in and late checkout.

The Midland hotel is iconic and the decor is gorgeous. The Champagne bar area is a little lively as its next to check in so was very busy with a wedding. The staff were all lovely and gave great service.
The lifts are slow, and there was one out of action during our stay, but this is a minor issue for us. The TV cable in the room had been detached so wasnt working initially but we manage to resolve it ourselves.

What more to say, this is by far the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in in Manchester. The staff are outstanding - super helpful and friendly. The building is amazing with so much history. Rooms were very comfortable and very reasonably priced for this level of luxury. Full marks.

I love the luxury feel, the bed I could not get out of! We love having a couple of drinks in the lobby bar, we make it our yearly treat to have a stay here!
This isn’t a big deal but peak times it’s a nightmare with the lifts!

Beautiful entrance area and champagne bar as we arrived we were impressed and the porters and initial welcome was good. The bed was very comfortable and the room smart and well maintained.
The women I dealt with at tte desk were less friendly and at first one young woman could not find my booking. It was a little awkward and she did not apologise at any stage even when it was clearly there. Unfortunately even though we were booked into a ‘superior’ room I am not convinced this was what we got. However it was fine. The noise from the air conditioning kept us awake, the second night we switched it off but the same sound was heard throughout ok the night. When we returned to our room in the evening our room had not been made up or anything restocked. I rang reception and asked for coffee explaining our room had not been attended to, the woman did not apologise and did not offer an explanation. We queried it when checking out and again no apology just told we must have been in the room when they came to clean. We were out all afternoon and evening and had been getting ready to go to an event, it seems odd the staff could not go back to clean .

Communal areas were nice. Room was outdated and in need of upgrade.
Outdated rooms, noisy and could hear drains/showers from other rooms early in the morning.
