The Midland is an award-winning, 4-star luxury hotel with a spa in Manchester city center. It offers stylish, air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. The ambiance and location of the hotel was perfect. It was close to the theatre which we wanted as we had tickets to see Tina. We were close by to the shops too and a couple of Christmas markets.
Liked everything the hotel had to offer it was just unfortunate that the pool wasn’t available for use due to maintenance that was taking place the week we had booked. We were informed of this before booking so it didn’t spoil anything, we would definitely go back.

The location was great.
The long queue for check in. Was only provided one large towel between two. There was staff pushing large bins across the corridor at 6.30am. The pancakes/waffles at breakfast was freezing cold.

The suite we were in
Reported a fault which wasn’t rectified during our stay and the spa was closed for maintenance which I found annoying as that was one of the reasons I had booked it and when informed, there was no other place to book at the rate I had got. Also, on the first night when the spa was open,the jacuzzi didn’t work. Bar staff were a little surly.

lovely atmosphere inside the hotel (very Christmassy). room was lovely and good facilities
there needs to be more seating in and around the bar. we struggled both days to get somewhere to sit for a drink and on the Saturday evening after and when we did we were then told to move for a prior reservation. its not a good experience.

The hotel is a lovely building and the entrance is impressive. The location is great and the staff were friendly. The choice at breakfast was very good and everything I had qas very nice.
The spa facility was not available. My room was tired looking with wallpaper patched up. The lighting in the room was poor. I had to use the torch on my phone to make a brew because the light above didn't work. I was woken up at 7am by people in the next room talking for about an hour. I was away with my mum and was looking forward to sleeping in but it wasn't meant to be.
