The Midland is an award-winning, 4-star luxury hotel with a spa in Manchester city center. It offers stylish, air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. Great central location close to bars, restaurants and theatres (we were visiting the Opera House for a comedy show……and it was less than a 10 minute walk!!)
Our room was upgraded to “premium” for a small fee, the room looked into a central area of the hotel….which was disappointing, the bathroom door would not close and the room was very cold.

Loved the room and how clean it was the staff were very kind and eager to help they couldn't do enough for you! They even made sure to bring up a robe and slippers for when we went down to the spa. The check out was super quick and easy too. They let us store our bags after check out as well so we could explore Manchester for a lot longer. The bar itself is beautiful too. The bed was so comfortable.
I know it is an old building but our windows did not shut properly so it was quite chilly as we could not keep the heat in. Also for the spa they need to make it more explicit that yes it is complementary and subject to availability but they need to have some sort of system available to say yes we have this availability on these dates and times instead of telling guests to call up from 7am to try booking in a slot. We were so disappointed and shocked to hear when we called at that time that there was no availability until 2pm that day but agreed to be put on the cancellation list. Luckily the staff called as back about an hour later and someone had cancelled so we could enjoy it.

Broken shower holder in the room that kept falling off and broken hose Holes in tiles and grout missing were stuff had been before and not filled Toilet seat was put on wonky Poor finishing touches around the whole property that let it down Some staff are very poor at there jobs and didn’t seem over bothered

Great location amd iconic building
Bedroom was small given that if paid for a bigger king size room. You could hardly get past the wardrobe (which didn’t have enough space for clothes for 2 people) and no drawers for undies etc Plus we had ordered a newspaper for our room but it only came one morning out of 3
