Good size rooms, good central location, clean, friendly staff, good selection at breakfast.
No place to hang coats in the bedroom dispite having plenty of room. Curtains were very difficult to open and close due to height and sticking curtain track around high bay window.

The location is perfect for the Albert Hall , Bridgewater Hall ,The Everyman Cinema , The Opera House Theatre and shopping areas . The bar area and entrance foyer are attractive . Breakfast was good and staff attentive.
Although spacious the room and corridor decor were a tad dated .

This was our second stay and it’s a lovely old hotel with great facilities
Our room faced the inner court yard and there seemed to be a noise like an air conditioner going on and off all night which was quite loud.

Room was very underwhelming for the price the bathroom door didn’t lock or even close and the pillows were really uncomfortable The rooms were extremely warm and uncomfortable too Hairdryer was really bad

I’d not seen this hotel in many years — it’s been beautifully renovated and the lounge bar now resembles the classic feature found in grand hotels. Staff are evidently well schooled and guest oriented. The location is superb. Rooms are comfortable and bright — Manchester was kind enough to lay on some spring sunshine, so I can’t promise anyone else the same experience.
Given the absence of natural light, bathroom lighting was poor in my room and felt rather left behind the renovations elsewhere — not enough to lessen the pleasure of staying at this hotel, but it was noticeable.

The room itself was lovely.
The noise from the ac units in the roof were noisy throughout the night. At breakfast it is self service but there was a lot of wet areas where people were carrying their hot drinks/ teapots around, I would the hot drinks to be served.
