When I checked out (knowing I wouldn’t set foot there again)
Lowest temperature available in the air-con settings was 19 degrees celcius, although the actual room temperature was at a constant 20 / 21 degrees. This was during a heatwave in Manchester. Staff and Engineering refused to lower the temperature in the room. So tough look - you can try and sleep in a heatwave with the air-con "cooling" the room to 21 degrees.
The TV was set to "Soap Opera Mode" eg Motion Smoothing / Frame interpolation enabled. The TV settings had been disabled, to prevent guests from changing the settings, including brightness/contrast. The staff and engineering again refused to change the TV settings. Thankfully the LG TV Hotel Mode can be disabled if you do quick google search (don't forget to press OK after entering the unlock code).
The Chromecast was constantly dropping out. Streaming to the TV was impossible. The room design and layout itself was lovely, but it was torture at night time when we wanted to unwind for a few hours and watch TV before going to bed and trying to sleep.
I ended up spending the last 2 nights at a different hotel, which had actual room cooling / air-conditioning. Will NEVER stay at Marriott again.

Nice staff and location.
Disappointing breakfast, construction site just across the window (the hotel is being expanded), fire alarm going on for hours for no particular reason.
