The beautiful decor in all the public areas and our room. The tasteful way the Free Trade Hall has been converted keeping some of its original features within and outside the building. Its position is ideal too for restaurants and bars.
Also liked the spa and pool area.
Confusion over the bars! We thought the Champagne Bar was the only bar and didn’t find out until our second day that there were 2. We were slightly disappointed when the Champagne Bar was closed after 5pm! Maybe the bar areas and times could be pointed out by reception on check in. We didn’t switch the TV on until later on day 2 of our stay. So we missed relevant info!
The Nespresso machine leaked too!
We were slightly disappointed with the noise level in the pool. We thought we had booked a session so that there wouldn’t be hasn’t people in there. There were a few couples and a man with 5 young children all boys and quite rowdy. He wasn’t even in the pool with them. They were jumping in and splashing everyone. All for children enjoying themselves in a public pool. There was no policing of the pool area and the man was taking photos. Not appropriate.

The shared area facilities such as the spa and gym feel luxurious and are of a high standard. Breakfast was very good. The staff are very friendly
The rooms feel extremely basic and closer to a budget chain hotel than a 5 star hotel. It made the value for money extremely poor. It’s a shame as the rest of the hotel is very desirable and would draw you back otherwise

Perfect location with trams a 3 minute walk away, very clean spa area
Maid didn’t come to do my room till 4:30pm on the second day, but was on my own so wasn’t a problem as just said not to bother

The rooms were superb. We asked for inter-connecting doors as we were travelling as a family and the hotel allocated them with no issues. It was my wife's 50th and they left a small cake a card wishing her a great day. That was special and going the extra mile - Thank You.

Great location, comfortable bed, attentive staff
For a 5* hotel, distinct lack of ‘little touches’ you expect from a higher end hotel. Lakeland long-life milk is not great, very meagre selection of toiletries.
Breakfast was good but the hot buffet is on a weirdly high island so I can imagine guests who are on the shorter side may struggle a bit!
