It was a very convenient location for me.
The room was big enough, bed comfortable but only 2 pillows, OK as I was solo. a large walk in shower, no scrabbling in a bath. Nice big TV and fridge. USB ports by the bed.
A little grubby around the doors and a complete lack of signs on the corridor, I would fear getting out in an emergency.

Good location in central Manchester, large hotel
Check in was smooth so we were happy. However when we had checkin in, left our belongings in the hotel room then gone out in Manchester, we returned later to find our key cards didn’t work to our room and there was a sign on the door saying ‘come and speak to reception’ …. This was not ideal to find after a night out when we just wanted to go to sleep.
We went back to reception but there was no one at the desk. After waiting a few minutes, we shouted ‘hello???’ And finally someone came out.
She couldn’t give a reason as to why our cards didn’t work/we were called to reception despite everything in the checkin going smoothly.
She issued us new key cards. We don’t understand why this happened? It was disruptive and inconvenient for us and we were given no explanation - this has never happened at a hotel stay before.
Also- the rooms have no kettle/tea/coffee facilities or even cups which is surprising given it’s a 4 star hotel.

Staff knowledge poor, a booking.com mistake meant there was only one room instead of two, the staff struggled to rectify this, and because of this issue my friend was given a key to a room that was already occupied, a very scary experience as the occupant could have been in there, maybe in a state of undress!!! Thorough incompetence by the staff, how can you be given a key for a room that is already occupied, please reply to me on this!!!
The cooler was not working, mentioned to reception who said it would be fixed!! It wasn’t!! So warm champagne

Rooms were shabby looking. Bleach spills and stains over room carpet, stains and scuffs out of walls, very noisy even with windows shut. Breakfast poor quality for price.
