Disappointing
I was given a nice room, which was actually intended for disabled use which meant I had more space than I expected.
Checking in procedure was hopeless, I got texts of how to log in online. Nothing actually worked unless you downloaded the App - possibly? Which I didn't want to do. I've logged in online before at other hotels with no problem. Resulted in queuing twice and filling in a form. The QR code in text didn't work. Room had no facilities for making tea and coffee, which meant everything had to be purchased from bar in reception. This made nonsense of the cheap rate for a room as the hidden cost of this ramped it up. There was not even a glass to be able to drink tap water in the room or bathroom. I asked staff who said they couldn't provide this for me. There were not enough staff on duty, on Friday morning, I came down to the bar for a cup of tea to find one person on duty in the breakfast area and bar (opposite sides of reception area). She was doing her absolute best with a smile on her face, but in the end when my son in law came down I had to get a coffee from the breakfast area and bring it over. I feel like A&O have ruined what was a nice hotel with their penny pinching con tricks, I would have preferred to pay a bit more and have a more pleasant stay. Its a shame as the location is perfect.

• Great location, close to many things
• Public transport nearby
• Room looked clean and tidy
• AC not cooling at all; doesn’t respond below 30°C and stops blowing when set lower
• TV barely responsive (requires many clicks) and even if it does respond, it's stuck on a single radio channel
• House 2 foyer feels abandoned (only barriers, no reception or bar; all services in House 1)
• Very small, slow, loud elevators
• WiFi stopped working after 2 days (captive portal wouldn’t open to enter membership code)

Very well located
Staff not nice at all. Shame because its a really nice place, fire alarm was activated and they did not worry about sharing reason why or if there was something to worry about not only that, Lady at front desk make me pay for an early check in 13£ even though she is the one that told mey bedroom was ready…

Very Poor
Very little! Booked when it was Novotel in June 2025. It had all of the facilities we required, toiletries in the room, iron and ironing board tea and coffee making facilities. When we got to our room it looked as if it had been stripped of all of the above. When we tried to complain the very young reception staff told us there was no management on site. I had been informed beforehand that the hotel had been taken over but now on further investigation I find out I we had stayed in a hostel. When we checked in the reception area was in chaos, totally disorganized. Our bill quoted by Novotel which included breakfast was £161.00. We paid this and later found out that no one we spoke to had paid more than £60.00! I have complained and I think we should be entitled to a refund but this has not been forthcoming.
As above

Very Good
Staff were very friendly and hotel accommodated us leaving our luggage before check in and after check out. Room was spacious and clean and in a good location in Manchester.
There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. We had to go and buy plastic cups from a nearby shop. A little disappointed as we enjoy a hot drink before bed which we weren't able to have.

Great location.
My room key card didn’t work, so we had to go back to reception to get it fixed. The room was colder than we expected, and then we discovered that the heater wasn’t working. Since there was no phone in the bedroom, we had to return to reception to inform them that the room was too cold. After thirty minutes, we went back again, as no one had come to fix the issue. An hour later, we returned to reception to ask for a solution. They asked us to wait ten minutes and eventually provided a portable heater. It didn’t warm the room as much as we had hoped, but at least it was something. The blankets were inadequate for winter, we asked for an extra one, but it never arrived, so we had to sleep very bundled up. There was also no kettle or cups in the room. Pillows were uncomfortable.

Breakfast was good on first day but by sunday everything had changed.
Breakfast on sunday was awful. Paid £12 but no bacon or fried/scrambled egg available. Had to ask for toast and more butter. Ran out of strawberry jam.

Spacious rooms with very low noise levels.
Room was clean with good bathroom, especially the walk-in shower.
Also has a mini fridge, great for storing food or drinks.
Perfect location, especially on match days to walk to Old Trafford, and only a few minutes walk to Arndale and Piccadilly train station.
Breakfast was poor, paid for breakfast when booked room but didn’t receive a QR code on booking or checking in needed to scan to sit for breakfast. Got sorted with great staff on to help. Food selection was poor compared to previous stay when Novotel. Breakfast experience put me off, despite paying for it and help from staff, I went elsewhere for remainder of holiday.
Checking in online is cumbersome, have to do it regardless if you want to check-in in person.
Not a big fan of separate rooms for toilet and washing facilities.

Location is excellent for my office, just a few mins walk.
Room was massive as well as the TV
Reception could be better managed, very slow in checking in, and the App is not intuitive.

Location
Checked in to be given key card to a room that was already occupied. Given different room that was filthy. Bin full, sink in bathroom full of hair & a dirty toilet. Shocking breakfast for the price!!

Wonderful
We stayed over on one of the hottest weekenda of the year and I can honestly say its the best hotel I have stayed in for keeping the temperature down. It wasn’t even too cold, it was somehow just right considering it was 32 degrees c outside. Clean and great staff. Was a bit pricey but as it was a busy weekend in Manchester due to the Oasis gigs, it was to be expected.
