Good
The location is convenient and centrally located. The bed was comfortable and we got nice Tips for food from the front desk. Value for money is good because we got a good price on the room. Check out was 12, which is great for us.
You can tell that the hotel has been around a long time. It is pretty rundown. While the location is very central, theres also some dodgy people around. All in all I would do it if you're staying a short while and get a good price.

Very Good
Location right in the city center of manchester
Confortable bed
Cozy bathub
Nice view
Decent restaurant
Helpful personnel
Noise isulation between the rooms is pretty bad! You could hear almost everything from the neighbors. Either that or my neighbor was disrespectful and very loud.
Luckily the reception staff helped me with this situation and silenced the noisy neighbor.

The breakfast met my needs as well as the gym and location
The bathroom mirror was dirty, and the full body mirror. The construction noises were the most discomfort. There were no plugs near the bed as well

Clean, wonderful location.
I'm a frequent stayer at this hotel but this time as a NY treat we booked the privilege room for 3 nights and we were disappointed. The wardrobe space was very limited, we were supposed to get bathrooms and slippers but there were none provided and our room wasn't cleaned and only offered to be once when I was in the shower so couldn't do it then. I wasn't impressed this time and I would go for a normal room if I was to stay again

It was fine. Location was convenient, room was clean, and the showers were probably some of the best. Nothing to complain about honestly. I think I just would have preferred the city to be cleaner, but that's not on the hotel.
Nothing was that bad from what I remember. For the value, I really can't complain. It was a one night stay so it was very short and enjoyable. Locationally it was really convenient and close to everything

Very Disappointed
The first room we were given hadn't been cleaned by housekeeping so they gave us a privilege room instead. We dropped our bags and went out for the rest of the day. On returning the room was extremely cold so tried to put the thermostat up on the controls. This did not work after several attempts and blew cold air and the red light flashing. We then got out the heater which had a wheel missing and no sockets anywhere near the bed to plug it in. The mirror was a complete waste of time too as there were no ceiling lights anywhere near the dressing table apart from a small table lamp which gave out very little light. We have stayed at the Mecure many times and never had any problems. Room 515 was very disappointing especially as we had paid over £200 for the night.

Wonderful
Overall, the property is good, clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The room was tidy and had everything needed for a pleasant stay. A quiet and convenience place for both business and short trips.
I was a bit disappointed with the door lock. During my 3-night stay, I had to ask the staff for help four times because my key card didn’t work. After the second time, the staff kindly advised me not to keep the card near my phone or bank cards, which I followed, but the problem still occurred later. Apart from this small inconvenience, my overall experience was very positive, and I hope the hotel can improve this issue for future guests.

Great Location, nice breakfast restaurant.
They had 3 lifts but middle one was not working all time. It caused a huge queue to use them.
The room had a kettle but it contained water. Seems staff didn’t clean.

Pokey room, poor facilities. I have stayed in Mercure hotels in France. They were exceptional. I will not bother with Manchester again.

Location was good and staff were very helpful and accommodating especially Demola at the reception who was amazing. He assisted with some issues we had and ensured we were comfortable.
Rooms are very small. A twin bed was advertised and I selected but instead we were given a double bed. The first room we were given had a bad heater. The 2nd room we were given had no intercom. It takes about 5-10 mins for hot water to start running.

Pleasant
As central as you can get in Manchester, location is by far the biggest draw.
It is very, VERY tired. Efforts to improve the internal appearance are very obvious as they have been done cheaply and to try and tide the place over for a few more years. The whole building needs to be gutted back to the structural skeleton and completely rebuilt. The prices cannot be justified by location alone, guests expect are far higher standard of decor and aesthetic for what they are being charged.
On top of the general tiredness/shabbiness - I could hear guests in one of the adjacent rooms to me as they were being projected through loud speaker into my room. They weren’t particularly loud - this is something to do with the structural defect in the walls and windows. I shouldn’t be able to hear other guests private conversations as though they’re next to me in my own room.
