The hotel itself is beautiful, but the breakfast could be improved. I found the food selection somewhat limited and not particularly exciting, especially for families with children. The breakfast offering could be more varied, appealing and enjoyable, with a better selection of options for both adults and children. The food presentation and organisation could also be improved to make the overall breakfast experience feel more inviting.
The staff were polite, but unfortunately, I did not find the hotel particularly friendly or welcoming during my stay. I often felt that I had to ask questions myself rather than receiving information or assistance proactively.
On one occasion, I found a dirty towel in my room. I reported this to a member of staff, who apologised, but the towel was not removed afterwards. I found this disappointing, especially after taking the time to report it.
What stood out most was the lack of interaction and warmth throughout the hotel. During my stay, only one person made an effort to have a genuine conversation with me. The overall atmosphere felt very quiet and somewhat unwelcoming — almost like a ghost hotel. At times, it felt as though my children and I were the only people there.
From my experience, the hotel seems more suited to business travellers or people looking for a very quiet place to stay rather than families looking for a welcoming leisure experience. The pool facilities also did not feel particularly family-friendly. There were organised swimming sessions for children learning to swim, but when we asked about using the pool for leisure, the options did not really seem to accommodate us.
Unfortunately, this experience affected my overall impression of Manchester during our stay. I had hoped for a warmer and more welcoming experience, particularly travelling with my children. I would therefore not recommend this hotel to families or to people looking for a sociable, welcoming atmosphere.
If you are looking for somewhere very quiet, private and business-oriented where you can simply stay, rest and leave, this hotel may suit you. However, if you are looking for warmth, friendliness, family atmosphere and leisure facilities, this was not the right hotel for me.

Designed by a drunk architect - no lift to basement rooms, which is issue if one has 25kg bags!

Location and overall hotel presentation was lovely and very scenic
Family rooms by default were in the basement level and we had to get down some 10-12 steep steps which was very unfriendly considering we had just landed after an 8-hour flight and we had a lot of luggage too. Besides the flush wasn’t pumping enough of water and we figured this out just after checking in and had to call the service team on more than one occasion.

Location was perfect for our visit. Also pet friendly which is why we chose this hotel. Room was very clean including bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially in the restaurant at breakfast. EV charging points available, but not rapid chargers.
No mobile reception at all in the rooms at the back of the hotel and there was no quiet lounge area where you could go to make phone calls near front of hotel where the reception was better. The corridor carpets looked well worn in places and in need of refresh. The car park was very full and busy at all times. I couldn't connect my laptop to the internet due to the annoying registration page not loading, though worked ok on my mobile phone. A mistake was made in overcharging my card. This was put right before I checked out, but it did take about 20 minutes to rectify.
