It was clean
The walls are paper-thin. On both nights of my stay I could hear conversations and TV shows loudly until after 1am. Not much choice on pillows - both were hard and too big.

The room was excellent - quirky but functional design and enough room for a short city break. Location was perfect - very short walk to Piccadilly Station, with a tram stop across the road. An abundance of restaurants and bars in the vicinity. Lovely wide breakfast selection - and very quiet when we ate - 8am on a Sunday,. The design lends the hotel a unique, memorable look that stands out when compared many other city hotels.
The eggs were the only slight disappointment - tasted like powdered rather than the real thing. perfectly understandable for a buffet offering, but a little lacking in taste.

Uncomfortable bed, busy patterned carpet made it feel dated. Too small lifts- had to take stairs with luggage

Good location and staff. Room was clean. Decent enough price.
Curtains didn’t fully close and keep the light out. No fridge in the room. Not as good as when I previously used his hotel before it became The Portland.
