Great location, lovely staff, the bar restaurant downstairs is pretty cool with a fussball and pool tables, big screens as well to enjoy the world Cup, beds were comfy, rooms were clean all good

The air con in the room is very effective and the quirky decor was nice. The rooms are generally clean and the location is completely excellent, being 10 minutes walk from Picadilly and 5.minites walk from a tram hub.the bed was quite comfortable.
The staff were less than attentive. Entering and leaving the hotel was more like a motel experience than that of a hotel. Don't be fooled by the grand photo, none of the bedrooms look out of those windows. The bedrooms are contained within a newer rectangular block, looking in on each other across a narrow central space. The whole hotel felt neglected, with tatty old and extremely dirty carpets throughout. Breakfast is expensive, compared to other hotels, but similarly priced to those on that street it has to be said. The hotel and lift stank of cannabis. This was apparently down to a single guest, but the attitude of the staff was "what can we do about it?". Erm. Do I really need to tell them what they could do? Funnily enough other hotels tend not to smell of cannabis because they have fines in place for having to clean the rooms. There seem to be lots of great reviews on this site, none of which balance properly with the hotel as i found it. That, to my mind, is suspicious.
