It was nice and clean
The alarm went off twice, when we asked about it at reception there was no apology given, just an explanation that a hairdryer had caused it to go off (both times apparently)

Very convenient location, close to all transport options and within easy reach of major sightseeing spots ideal for anyone new to the city.
The facilities are quite old one clear example is the room heating. It doesn’t work effectively, which is especially noticeable during the cold season. This is something that should be improved to better accommodate guests in colder weather.

the hotel was well located for the northern quarter.
we booked a queen room expecting a comfortable upgraded room from the standard room. we were directed to a tiny room at the back of the hotel with a view across a shaft into another guest room. the doors to both the room and toilet were ridiculously narrow and there was next to no space to walk around the bed. In short, the room was grim and felt more like a cell with shabby faux paintings on the wall and mismatched squares of dingy carpet. we wanted to leave immediately but had booked non refundable rate which, at over £200 for the night, we were reluctant to lose. in fairness, the man on the desk did eventually move us to a room at the front of the hotel which, although bigger, was just as grim. no glasses in the room and tea and coffee had not been replenished. stained and old carpets that we did not want to walk barefoot on and an odd area with a sofa and a mirror but absolute no lighting - ceiling or otherwise. would not stay again or recommend.

Loved the location. Simple rooms but comfy beds and good bathrooms.
Unfortunately I didn’t find the reception staff very welcoming when asking about early check ins and bag drops. The man actually asked about if we knew it was only one double bed per room which was a little offensive as I’m not sure why 2 friends can’t share a double bed

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel - it was excellent value for money! The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was really nicely done out - nice tiles and really nice hardware in the shower! I couldn’t fault this hotel at all!
