Great location near the train station, easy to get to the city center, good restaurants in the area.
Breakfast starts early enough and is overall good.
The gym is small but relatively well equipped.
Most staff members are welcoming and helpful.
All I got from a paid upgrade to a superior room was just a larger entryway. Almost no storage space for clothes, limited as it was to two hangers behind the mirror. The heating was not working properly – in fact, it only worked as air conditioning (cooling) while it was freezing outside. Reception told me they would control it from there, which they did but only for an hour or so. Eventually I was given a small portable heater (!) which was completely useless.
My first day there the cleaning did not happen until 5pm and only because I asked for it; the cleaning team manager claimed that they had cleaned the room and only upon insisting and being called a liar did they come to clean, obviously in the one moment when I had said I would need to be in the room. Through all this, while most staff members were courteous enough, one was especially condescending to the point that, when I complained the cleaning should have happened before 5pm and without me having to negotiate for it, he said "How lucky that we are able to send you a cleaning team now!".
Ridiculous management overall. Too bad because it is an excellent location, the facilities could be made much better very easily, and it would only take better training and/or more hired staff to make this an incredibly better hotel.
