Wonderful
The room was very comfortable with plenty of space and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was modern and very clean. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of cooked and fresh food.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
It was quite hard to control the temperature

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the warm and professional welcome made us feel instantly comfortable. The staff were always attentive and friendly, offering help with genuine kindness.
Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of fresh choices to start the day, and we really enjoyed dining at the restaurant — excellent food and a pleasant atmosphere. The location is perfect: right in the city center, only a 3-minute walk from the train station, and we could easily explore everything on foot.
Everything was spotless and well maintained, and the overall service exceeded our expectations. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Cannot beat the location just a 2 minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly train station. Rooms are a decent size. We had a 5 month old with us and they put in a cot (upon request) before we got to the hotel. There was a chair with foot stool so could easily breastfeed and used the desk with a portable changing mat to change him. Shower had good water pressure. Plug got stuck but was was quickly sorted when reported. Staff are lovely. Breakfast is good value. You can have other family come to breakfast if they are not at the hotel (if you are there to visit family or friends - breakfast was 7.30-11am) Has a mini fridge and safe in room.
As 5month old not eating yet - smelly nappies aren’t a problem but would be nice to have option to request a diaper pail or some sort of system to dispose of nappies that aren’t going to stink up the room. Also no bath so was quite an adventure washing the little one.

A deeply disappointing experience with Holiday Inn Manchester – City Centre
I booked this hotel months in advance for a two-night stay, paid in full, and later requested to add a third night. The hotel confirmed the updated reservation. Only this morning — already en route to Manchester — did I learn that my booking had been cancelled due to an “invalid credit card.”
No one contacted me to resolve the alleged issue. Instead, I received a cancellation notice out of the blue. When I called, I was told the original terms could not be honoured. The only option offered was to re-book at a price roughly £200 higher than the confirmed rate.
Despite providing written confirmation of my updated reservation, the hotel declined to reinstate it. Their follow-up email acknowledged the conversation but shifted responsibility, stating they were “happy to proceed” only at the higher rate — a curious formulation given the earlier confirmation.
As a result, I arrived in Manchester to find myself unexpectedly without a room and forced to scramble for alternatives. It was inconvenient, unnecessary, and avoidable.
This episode reflects poorly on the property’s reliability and customer care. When a hotel cancels a prepaid reservation without warning and demands a higher price to re-book, it undermines trust. I will be looking elsewhere on future visits — and would advise others to proceed with caution.

Pleasant
Spacious room, hygene products provided, good shower, staff very friendly, room service available.
Wait time in reception, queues despite there being 2-3 bar staff nearby doing anything, I see no reason why they couldn't be upskilled?
Drink rings on the table/desk and no menu in the room.
Only the BBC and the radio on TV. Not even Freeview? No apple screen sharing availability.
Builders being noisy nearby, get a room on a high floor if staying here soon.
