I coud hear the cars outside my window as I was on the ground floor next to the car park. My neighbours were also noisy in the middle of the night.
I specifically asked the staff prior to arrival about walking to the hotel and was told that it is not as far as Google Maps suggested (45 minutes on foot) because of the new road layout but despite me walking extremely fast and sweating all the way, it still took me 30 mins along a dark road with bushes along the roadside, which made me feel unsafe (after 11 pm at night). The bus service was no use as it only got to the hotel at the same time as me and without a GB-functioning sim card I could not dial the GB number that was written at the bus stop. Prior to my arrival, the hotel staff had made me believe it was easier to get on the shuttle than in reality. When I arrived at the hotel, the receptionist was surprised that it 'only' took me 30 minutes instead of the 45+ minutes she usually needs, which shows that not every member of staff gives out the same information. The stupid thing is that there is actually a bus service to the hotel for only 3 pounds but it is not easy to contact from the airport and I was not properly informed about this. The bus back to the airport was easy to organise with the hotel and the driver was super friendly, so why can't it be like this both ways? Using the airport internet I could have easily sent a message to the hotel indicating I wanted to go on the shuttle bus but this was not offered (only the message 'contact details are in the terminal - bus stop H, but what I really needed to know in advance was exactly who to call and how long I would be waiting)
The breakfast could have been better with real bread and some cheese, for example.

I don't usually pay much for a hotel when I'm simply 'in transit'. Having missed my flight I simply needed a room to get my head down until the next day's flight. If you want to be close to the airport, there's no such thing as a cheap room - it seems. The price of my room was in fact, very reasonable - for an airport hotel so I wasn't expecting the Hilton but this hotel far exceeded my expectations. Friendly staff, excellent food and a very comfortable clean room - the all you can eat breakfast was wonderful. I don't make a habit of missing flights but if it happened again - Holiday Inn Express will be my choice.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel, it was never any trouble at all for anything from the staff thry were ALL superb from the minute we got there to rhe minute we left..
Very very attentive, greeted at the door, taken to our room, honestly can not fault this place.. If I had to say one fault about this place then I'd fail.. We shall be using this place EVERYTIME we go away from now on regardless of out flight times, they also provide an airport shuttle bus and for just £3 per person it's a brilliant service..
Thank you so much to all the staff for making the start of our holiday so enjoyable !

Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. I have recently stayed at another hotel locally and whilst it was nearer to the airport, you couldn't swing a cat in the room lol

Only had the grab n go at 4am but perfectly acceptable , great fruit and pastries- didn't have coffee. Grateful for the fayre.Generous room size and well equipped including TV and tea/ coffee making facilities but No AC.
The lounge/ bar area needs rethinking- too small /confined and the comfortable seating was very limited.. unfortunately the sink waste in the en suite leaked considerably as the tap was opened. Reported to the concierge the following morning- hope it was attended to as paddling through water isn't comfortable.!
