Room 711 - the room was clean and well stocked
Only 2 out of three lifts were working which was awkward but not awful.
On the other hand, for some unexplained reason, room service was completely closed down when we returned in the evening for a 'deep clean' of the kitchen. I can understand that this may have been an emergency and would have prevented the production of prepared meals but we were also informed that there was no drinks or snack service either - not even packets of crisps / nuts or wine & beer which could have been provided from the bar.
The worst part though was the dismissive attitude of the person who was answering the room service telephone who seemed more irritated about being interrupted by guests and shrugged the whole situation off by telling us to order Uber Eats or Deliveroo instead - which then entailed standing outside the hotel awaiting a delivery as the limited lift access meant that it would take longer to get downstairs.
I wasn't the only one who felt like this as there were a number of other, unhappy, guests stood in the lobby or outside in pyjamas & coats who were also very annoyed by the situation.....which could have been alleviated if the hotel had just kept the lobby bar open with one staff member serving drinks & pre-packaged snacks.
I would have mentioned it at checkout but since I was not asked by the receptionist how my stay had been I decided to wait so that I could give my feedback more ....publicly
