Facilities were decent and hotel was overall a pleasant experience.

Friendly service on check-in and checkout.
Rooms are a bit dated - stains on carpets, scuffed cabinets/furniture etc. Weirdly the curtain netting didn't fully shut, though the main curtains did. Service on checkin was friendly but quite slow as my room wasn't ready (it was roughly 15:30) so they had to shuffle things around which took a few. Breakfast was ok - exactly what you'd expect from a standard hotel buffet, but nothing too special.
Unfortunately the thing that killed it for me was the bed - it was hard, with bouncy creaky springs that you can feel. Some may like this but I didn't sleep well at all.
Weirdly the TV randomly seemed to make everything very green, until I changed channels back and forward again.
There are a few other hotels in Manchester at a similar price point with nicer rooms, beds, and breakfast - so I'd recommend looking around at options. It's not a bad stay though, barring (in my opinion) the bed.

Breakfast was exceptional and the room was very comfortable. Bed was comfortable, soft sheets and good pillows. Coffee maker included which was a nice extra. Walk-in shower and separate bath. Loved the Crabtree toiletries and soft towels. Good location with a few bars and restaurants locally, close to train station with direct line to airport.
Food in the restaurant was mixed experience with great sauces but cod fish was underwhelming and possibly frozen, blackberry mousse was rock hard and didn’t really taste of anything. Dining room was a bit cold and music was loud. When I arrived a server walked passed me without speaking before coming back and asking if I had a reservation when the place was nearly empty. Then said “it should be okay” as if they were doing me a favour fitting me in when no more that three tables were in use the whole time. Service improved when Bella took over serving me. Spa features in the shower and bath didn’t really work and the bathroom tap was hard to control.
