Fantastic location for walking along the canals, lots of bars and restaurants around and also very walkable into the city centre. Also on the free number 1 bus route.
Staff was super friendly and helpful.
I used the swimming pool and wish I had brought a run kit as the gym looked great too.
Things that would have made my stay more comfortable: a plug socket near the bed, a reading light, again, near the bed and a fridge. Although staff had no issue letting me take pint glasses of ice up to the room. I also couldn’t access the hotel WiFi in my room, but was able to hop onto the Science museum’s network.

Everything. The rooms and beds are comfy. The bar and restaurant are great as is the outside terrace. Swimming and gym facilities are superb.
Best of all are the staff. They are so friendly and helpful. Ann and team you are a credit to the place.
Was booked through booking.com. I didn’t realise when booking it is a YMCA. If I’d known would I have booked I’m not sure. But it is a hotel and I’m so pleased I did as all profits go into the community which includes the fitness centre and swimming pool. All profits go back into the centre and hotel.
It has a real community feel and I love that.
I have stayed In so many places in Manchester, from the Midland to the Kimpton which are amazing but this is now my go to hotel. It’s not as luxury but it an absolutely great place.

Check in was quick and easy. The location is perfect for Castlefield Bowl and the surrounding bars. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
There are no fans in the room. When it's hot, you either have to keep the windows closed or suffer the noise of the street with the window open. It's on a busy road, so the noise is constant, fast cars, large vehicles. If it's hot when you stay, try to take a fan with you.

Fellow guests arguing in the early hours. Very loud and using foul language. Started outside the hotel then continued once they got to their room. Had a broken night's sleep due to this disturbance!

All members of staff were friendly and professional. We had asked for a quiet room and they allocated us an amazing room with views over Castlefield Bowl. Swan towels on the bed was a lovely touch for our special stay. I wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back when we hope to have more time to make use of the swimming pool and sauna etc. Thank you Castlefield Hotel - you were great!
