I really love this place. I was travelling on business and live in the South but used to stay here all the time when I worked in Manchester years ago.
It is now run as a not for profit organisation which is great. The staff could not be more friendly, the rooms are nice, I didn’t use the gym but the facilities look good.
I am full of a cold and they offered to make me a hot toddy when I checked in and could they carry my bags, so good of them to offer - there was also a friendly dog behind reception.
It’s got a nice atmosphere in the bar/ restaurant and my room was lovely and warm when I got in it and very clean. So many hotels I have stayed at recently have freezing cold rooms which I know is understandable but it just felt cosy.
On check out they cannot do enough for you. - lovely friendly staff.
The parking is not vast but I got a space - it’s £18 which you can pay for at reception but you can also park on street opposite reception and pay by phone if you can get a space.
I would thoroughly recommend giving this a try
A mirror near a plug socket so I could see what I was doing when I dried my hair but it’s not a major thing

It’s was close for the things that we were doing

Very good welcome from helpful reception staff. Good location for easy city access and good value hotel.
It’s very annoying not to be able to turn off the bathroom light at night because of the automatic light sensor.

Bed was comfortable, location had good access to a free bus and overall room was of a good quality.
Could not turn of toilet light, after we had booked in I heard a staff member make a slightly cutting remark

Perfect location with Deansgate a short walk away and canalside views from the hotel. Breakfast was self service with a good range available to suit all tastes.
Nothing we didn't like but an extra chair in the room would have been useful
