I phoned this hotel on the 25 September, to ask about the carpark and the restaurant. During that call, as their receptionist was very friendly and as they had a carpark, I booked their last room, for the following night. During the call, I was told that the food in the evenings is hit and miss, so we should eat dinner outside the hotel and she assured me, there were plenty of bars and restaurants on the side road as them, which there is. We arrived at the hotel around 10am and their receptionist, took our payment for our room and the £18 carpark fee. The hotel location, is within walking distance of the Manchester Cathedral, Science and Industry museum, the John Ryling library and the main shopping centre. Breakfast in the morning, is ok, the food was warm, the choice and amount of food available was limited, you’re not told you can have other egg options. Room (210) is a good size, light corner room with three windows. But the room seems dated and the headboard didn’t completely cover the bed area and no bedside lamps. It was clean and tea, coffee and biscuits are provided. Our bathroom, had watermarks on a wall, with a strong smell of beach when we arrived and we couldn’t turn the bathroom light off (so it stayed on all night). We were given good sized towels and shower gel. The walls are paper thin, so we experienced noise from the room next door and the corridor. But we didn’t have an issue during the night or any traffic noise.
The carpark is shared by the hotel and Y gym, so no direct entrance from the car park into the hotel. To get to reception, you walk along the canal and up a number of steps, to reach the main entrance. This could cause issues for some guests and it’s a pain, when you have luggage. Within minutes of arriving at the hotel (10am), a gym member, pulled into the space next to me and hit my car, causing damage. I was lucky that I returned to my car, just after it happened and got her details. I immediately informed the hotel, but due to a number of reasons, (their receptionist gave an awkward apology, tired after travelling for four hours, my partners and my first trip, since he had major surgery in July) that I will be honest and say, that because we simply wanted a break and I didn’t want a row with the hotel minutes after arriving, I played it down slightly. But the hotel has never offered to refund the carpark fee and the management didn't reach out to us during our stay, to discuss this. We left the hotel at 9am, the next morning and witnessed, two gym members driving around the small carpark at speed – seaching for a space, before rushing into the gym. On the 28 September, I tried to ring the hotel to simply to ask them to look into how the carpark is being used. But I was told that no manager was available and I wasn’t offered a call back. In fact I spoke to the same receptionist, from the Saturday and was told that within the last two years there had only been three incidents (mine, a stolen bike and damage to a lamppost). While I understand the damage was caused by a gym member, the general lack of concern by the hotel or even a call from their manager to discuss this - speaks volumes about how they treat their guests. After being a real pain to the hotel, their manager has finally reached out to me, but I took his reply with a pinch of salt, after seeing how this hotel has responded to other guest’s reviews.

Lovely hotel, fantastic friendly staff, great room, comfy bed, great breakfast, fantastic location and easy parking.
A little bit noisy due to the location so best to bring some earplugs (which I did) but that's just standard really. DIdn't stop me sleeping.

I loved the staff and the bed.
It's not the hotel's fault, but a man knocked on my door at 1.30 am , telling me there was a sock in the hallway, I told him that it wasn't mine, then he asked if I would turn the TV down. I had fallen asleep with the TV on. I did turn it down, but it freaked me out a bit that he mentioned the sock first.

Poor room which was very noisy resulting in disturbed sleep. Noise from the next door rooms late at night, poor soundproofing between rooms.
Also late noise disturbance from what sounded possibly like cleaners?.
Early morning noise from bins etc
Although extra paid fo dog nothing was supplied i.e. no water bowl, treats or any kind of bedding just hard wooden floor.
Hard to understand justifying paying extra for my dog.

The location is great, the room was simple but clean and the staff we spoke to were very friendly.
We waited for about 10 minutes for someone to come to the reception and check us in. The breakfast was ok bur far too salty.
