Location
Rooms a bit dated , on arrival our room had a really strong smell of cigarette smoke , the room had been cleaned prior to our arrival but it was obvious someone had been smoking, we raised this with reception as the smell was really over powering and we were moved to another room which was an upgrade , staff addressed this straight away

Wonderful
Very close to Manchester Piccadilly train station and ideal location for the shops, bars and cafes. Hotel has lots of history and lots of charm. Breakfast was buffet style and was very good.
Nothing really.

Great value for city centre hotel.
Having previously checked in online I thought the check in on arrival was long and tedious.
Empty bottle behind bedside lamp table so issues with cleaning process. Lots of doors slamming was annoying

Location from the coach station is perfect. Room was neat and tidy.
It's a tiny little gripe, but there is a noticeable creaky floorboard by the TV area. However, this didn't really bother me - though it may annoy others when walking by that area.

This is a wonderful old building changed from a factory I believe it has a list of company employees who lost lives in the war. The stair cases and chandeliers are superb. Used to stay here a lot but hasn't been available presumably like other Britannia Hotels it has been housing new comers to the country.
The Hotel when confirming sent an email after I had paid that a Photographic I D was compulsory to stay there. I no longer have a valid Passport and have never had a Driving licence. I emailed them both via Bookings.com and independently asking if a Local Government bus pass was ok. I did not get a reply. It appears it is!
