Very Good
Location in deansgate - not bad !
On our second morning the hotel said they didn’t have breakfast. I was shocked but luckily that morning we didn’t have time for breakfast as we were meeting family but I was a little surprised as we had paid for breakfast. They did offer to make us toast. I probably would have complained if I wanted the breakfast.

Great location and extremely clean and well maintained
Breakfast could have been run better, there was a lot of confusion between multiple customers and the kitchen

Wonderful
The staff were excellent—consistently kind and helpful. The location is ideal, with everything within easy walking distance.
Breakfast was very good and tasty. As it is prepared to order, it arrives warm and fresh, although it may take a few minutes to be served. It is available between 8:00 and 10:30, though an earlier start (from 7:00 or 7:30) would have been appreciated.
In general, the hotel is very clean—well above the average standard of UK hotels.
There were a few minor flaws here and there—nothing particularly significant, but noticeable if you pay attention. My room faced the road, which was generally fine; however, on all three nights, it became suddenly noisy between 5:30 and 7:00 a.m. due to traffic. Also, I’ll probably never get used to English beds and their mattresses, but that’s more of a personal preference.

Very Poor
Central.
IT IS NOT A HOTEL. It is a pub with rooms above. No insulation, "breakfast included" limited to one rasher of bacon and instant coffee. Price should have been 10 GBP, not 60.

Stayed at Black Lion quite a few times now and would never stay anywhere else in Manchester/Salford. Hotel is always clean, staff very helpful and the food is good too. Perfect location for shopping, bars and places to eat.

Exceptional
I had a very pleasant stay at the Black Lion Hotel Manchester. The location is excellent, close to the city centre and Manchester Victoria station, making it very convenient for both business and leisure trips.
I stayed with my colleague Jonathan while attending a trade show in Manchester, and the hotel was perfect for our business trip.
We were warmly welcomed by Ed and Kaleigh at the front desk, who were both professional, friendly, and always happy to help. A special thanks as well to Madison from housekeeping, who was incredibly kind and made sure everything was spotless throughout our stay.
The room had everything we needed, including coffee and tea facilities, as well as an iron. It was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The bed was excellent, and the pub downstairs gives the hotel a lovely authentic English atmosphere.
The breakfast was good, and overall the hotel offers excellent value for money. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Manchester.

Very helpful and nice staff
Comfortable bed, good room amenities
The room was not very clean (there was hair in the toilet) and the music from downstairs was extremely loud. Also, there was a doorbell right next to my room that rang many times during the night, very loud.
