Built in 1876 The Black Lion Hotel Manchester Hotel is a brand new refurbished Manchester themed hotel that boosts 13 luxury themed bedrooms of iconic streets and buildings that Manchester has to offer. Located in the perfect spot for the city-goers, we are a 10-minute walk from the Manchester Arndale Shopping Center and a short walk to Victoria train station, the local metro links, and the AO Arena, which is approximately a 10-minute walk away. We have an amazing connection to CO-OP Live Arena via car, approximately 15 minutes, or via tram, approximately 12 minutes. The 13 brand new swanky rooms are individually furnished, and come with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen Smart TVs with Netflix streaming, tea and coffee making facilities, heating controlled system, king-size beds and walk in showers. The hotel offers 24-hour hotel access, key card access and night porters are at your call if needed. Please note that there is no elevator at the property and no ground floor rooms. Staff were amazing especially the lady who wore glasses in the morning/day shift sorry didn't get your name. Shower was great, very comfortable bed, although it was on a main road it wasn't noisy with the windows closed. But they even supplied ear plugs if needed. Everything you could need in the room was there a clock, hairdryer, even an iron and ironing board.
There was one chair in the room which was very uncomfortable. Our TV remote was broken so we couldn't watch the TV. We didn't realise till we had been showered and in bed so couldn't be bothered to go down to the bar to let the staff know. But did report it straight away. There was no bedside lights so we had a big bright room.or two small lights above the bed which was hard to read with as more decrotive.

Location is fantastic, 5 minutes walk to everything. Breakfast was outstanding. Staff fantastic
The base from the music from pub was loud, and below the window was the extractor fans from kitchen (I think), but the fan provided drowned this out. The shower temperature dial was awful, but staff came and helped fix it immediately (it is going to be fixed). Bedding a towels were spotless, smelled good. Floor needed a proper clean, my feet were covered in dust each time I took my footwear off but otherwise OK.

Unfortunately we arrived in the middle of the hottest day of the year, the room wasn’t a quipped with air conditioning, although it had a fan in the room it just pushed the warm air around . This made the night very uncomfortable….but can’t blame the staff or hotel for that in all fairness

The hotel location was great in relation to the city centre. The down side was it being on top of a pub...which i knew when I booked it..but didn't realise the world cup was on and England was playing...the noise outside the hotel was horrendous as we had to sleep with the windows open due to the very hot spell of weather. The breakfast at the hotel was decent and the staff were very accommodating. No air con and being on the 2nd floor was a killer.

Good location, near Manchester Victoria station and sgopping area. Good links for public transport just down road at Salford central station too. Room spacious, lovely toiletries to use and the fan was a blessing in the heat. Breakfast was tasty and staff very friendly.
We didn't mind it but no lift so not good if you can't manage 2 flights of stairs. Hot room but it is an old building so well insulated and we were there in the June heatwave ! Pub did provide a fan, essential at night which was fab!

A pretty decent pub, a stones throw from the arena, the room was great and really quiet. Breakfast was really good.
We are in the middle of a heatwave, it is what it is, the room was very warm, they did provide a large fan and its not the fault of the premises of staff. Unseasonally warm weather.

Location is fabulous, just a few minutes from the city centre and AO Arena. Staff were all lovely.
Glitter all over the floor in the room. No chef on the Sunday morning so had to walk to a sister hotel for breakfast. Noise on the Saturday night
