Built in 1876 The Black Lion Hotel Manchester Hotel is a brand new refurbished Manchester themed hotel that boosts 13 luxury themed bedrooms of iconic streets and buildings that Manchester has to offer. Located in the perfect spot for the city-goers, we are a 10-minute walk from the Manchester Arndale Shopping Center and a short walk to Victoria train station, the local metro links, and the AO Arena, which is approximately a 10-minute walk away. We have an amazing connection to CO-OP Live Arena via car, approximately 15 minutes, or via tram, approximately 12 minutes. The 13 brand new swanky rooms are individually furnished, and come with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen Smart TVs with Netflix streaming, tea and coffee making facilities, heating controlled system, king-size beds and walk in showers. The hotel offers 24-hour hotel access, key card access and night porters are at your call if needed. Please note that there is no elevator at the property and no ground floor rooms. Our traditional pub downstairs serves a gastropub menu and a list of your favorite drinks!

Location was good . Paid for breakfast x2 but wasn’t any so went hungry didn’t even offer money back or anything very poor

A pretty decent pub, a stones throw from the arena, the room was great and really quiet. Breakfast was really good.
We are in the middle of a heatwave, it is what it is, the room was very warm, they did provide a large fan and its not the fault of the premises of staff. Unseasonally warm weather.

Location is fabulous, just a few minutes from the city centre and AO Arena. Staff were all lovely.
Glitter all over the floor in the room. No chef on the Sunday morning so had to walk to a sister hotel for breakfast. Noise on the Saturday night

Good location close to the train station
Noises not good place to stay with children No breakfast tryed sending us up to somewhere else to have breakfast cause there was no chef on due sickness Didnt like that you had to walk in the pub and go through the side door where everyone in pub can see you Hot room no air con just fan Room was very hot The flush on the toilet didn’t work properly Beeping noise at 6am that woke us even thow we didn’t get to sleep till after 1am due to pub being loud Wouldn’t stay here again

The staff was exceptionally pleasant, and the food in the pub was first class.
The only issue I had was with using the key card for all the electricity. It makes sense to me to have the lights controlled by the key card, but one has to charge up one's phone at night. This made me choose between charging the phone and having the lights on all night, or not charging the phone.

Really cute little rooms with lovely comfy bed and good facilities, very convenient for the city and accessible through the pub 24 hours.
Little bit of trouble with the bathroom door being stiff and the bathroom light was automatic with no switch, but can pull the door to if it was annoying, so not really a big issue

Excellent place. Friendly staff, easy check-in. England game was on downstairs and it was packed and couldn't hear anything in our room.

The room was super clean and comfortable, the location was very walkable from the city center. I absolutely enjoyed my 2 nights stay there. The breakfast was also very very yummy, I always looked forward to it every morning. The highlight for me was when the staff helped me keep my bags in the hotel after checkout because my flight was later in the day. That was such a great gesture for me, help me save money and time for using a baggage storage. I highly recommend them.

Great location for city centre. Went to the Etihad via tram. Returned on shuttle bus after concert then 10 min walk back to hotel. Clean & comfy room. Lovely bathroom with good shower. Breakfast was nice too.
No space around bottom of bed so had to climb over. No worries for us but some may prefer a little more room. Woke up early by very loud banging above us. No idea what it was though! Breakfast seemed confusing. Had to find our own cutlery and cups/glasses & ask for menus as it was unclear what we were supposed to do. Table was sticky but staff came to clean it immediately when asked. Maybe hand the breakfast menu to hotel guests as soon as they come down and direct them where to find cutlery, cups etc? Everyone was polite & helpful though!
