From their base at the centrally located, non-smoking Trafalgar St. James London, guests can enjoy the best of London theater, dining, shopping and sightseeing, as well as a rooftop bar and a seasonal menu in the hotel restaurant. All 129 modern rooms in the five-story, non-smoking Trafalgar have flat-panel TVs, DVD players, stereos, coffeemakers, minibars, high-speed internet access for a fee and aromatherapy toiletries. Sample the menu at the hotel restaurant and enjoy a drink in the rooftop bar, which specializes in whiskeys and fantastic views. A fitness center keeps indulgences in check, and the business center keeps work-related chaos at bay. Ask the concierge for insider tips and theater tickets. Parking is available. Choosing which theater production to see in this neighborhood may be tough; find out what's on at Her Majesty's Theatre or the Theatre Royal Haymarket, both within a five-minute walk. Restaurants are in abundance; it would be hard to walk down the street in any direction and not find something delicious within a quarter-mile. Charing Cross underground station is less than a block away, and Heathrow Airport is 17 miles away.

The rooms have been renovated and are so pretty, spacious and my personal favourite was definitely the boudoir-table with the giant ring-light (a dream coming true for every woman putting on make-up!). Will definitely come back!

Wonderful
Very friendly and helpful staff. Location is well situated to easily walk to theater district, international area and many other squares. Rooftop deck was the highlight of the trip. Ask for Tyson!
Lighting in room is very dim, hard to see. Bathroom light switches were oddly located.

Good
Breakfast was satisfactory, nothing special despite being a high-star hotel. The location was great, just a walk across Trafalgar Square to the Coliseum. The bed was fantastically comfortable, I slept for 10 hours.
The bathroom was cold as there was no heating in there and no underfloor heating either so far as we could see. You would get out of the shower and immediately start feeling less warm. Toilet paper holders are useless, there is no stop on the end and the roll just keeps falling off unless you hold it whilst you turn it. They have better ones in the Hotel toilets. We had left our luggage while we walked along the river - on our return, we had time in hand before our train home so went up to the rooftop bar for a drink before departing. Not a good experience - we were asked to choose a table and a menu would be delivered. After 10 minutes, no menu arrived so my husband went to the bar to order one beer for himself and an orange juice for me. Fifteen minutes elapsed without service so we got up and walked towards the exit, my husband exclaiming, "don't bother, we're leaving!" whereupon the two staff members who were standing there (doing nothing) replied cheerily with a wave and "thank you!". Whilst waiting for our luggage to be retrieved from the concierge, the remaining staff member asked, "how was upstairs?" so we said it had been rubbish and without service for 25 minutes. My husband added that a party of six had taken a table behind ours and nobody had come to serve them either so they had left in fewer than 10 minutes. Apologies were made by the staff member we reported it to downstairs, we said he shouldn't be apologising, it was not him who had underperformed. He said he would make enquiries. We were on time for our train and yes, we would stay here again for the Coliseum as it is, quite literally, a five-minute walk.

Room was lovely especially the bathroom. Bed was super comfy. Staff were lovely and friendly. Molten Brown room fragrance was gorgeous.
The view from the room wasn't a good one. Office block so not very private either. The room was quite dark too.

Wonderful
Lovely staff throughout. Very quick and attentive. The room was a good size, well laid out, super clean and appointed with all the necessary stuff- robes, hair dryer.
Breakfast on roof very poorly laid out. The scrambled eggs were dry and the coffee was horrible. The a la carte breakfasts looked better. The selection of fruit was pretty limited. Not nearly as good as the Hilton in Cambridge which has proper real fresh juices and overall a disappointment for the style and price. I stay in hotels quite a lot and a decent breakfast before heading out is something I look for. Reception very bland and cramped. Great location but lacks style and atmosphere.

Fair
The bedrooms are reasonably well presented.
Firstly, the room stank of sewerage. We had to call an engineer followed by a cleaner to sort out the drains. Secondly, the noise from made by the staff at the Rooftop Bar (immediately above) kept me awake in the early hours - lots of shouting. Thirdly, breakfast was poor: staff needed to be prompted several times for very basic requests and the food was poor (stale rolls and inedible (dry) pancakes. Also, generally in this hotel I think service lacks class. It’s all a bit sloppy and unprofessional. It kind of summed things up when I made all these points at Reception and just got a “oh, sorry, I’ll make a note”. I wasn’t even asked if my stay had been ok before being charged and payment processed. I had to initiate the comments.
