Wonderful
Lovely aesthetic and very central location. Staff very helpful and go the extra mile (literally-giving us a running tour of the area).
Parts of room felt cramped and the lighting in the room was very dark.

The friendly, professional staff. They took particular effort to make every element of our stay, exceptionally special. It's a beautiful hotel, well-situated and felt like a very high quality place to stay in central London.
I found the red decor really elegant, but very red!

Lovely welcome as met at the taxi arrival outside and luggage taken in for us, staff friendly and professional. Hotel & room spotless, clean and light. Location great. Love the building and the décor.
Paid to add breakfast when booking, food was good but wasnt exceptional, smoked salmon & poached eggs done well, unfortunately served on burnt toast :-( We were also seated off to the side in the room, not sure if others had some sort of VIP booking to be in the main room area, regardless, service was lovely and staff friendly and attentive.
Waited over 15 mins for luggage to come to room, called reception and was advised it was on its way. Staff came to room with picture on phone of luggage in luggage room, mistakenly thought to be checked out guests luggage for holding, eventually got brought up all ok after another 10 mins or so.
Bathroom tiny, we had requested a walk in shower if poss, rather than bath as my older mum would struggle stepping into a bath. This therefore may have restricted the room options/limited bathroom options, but was a very small area to function in, nevertheless for one night it was ok.
Had booked as a 75th birthday celebration and return visit as my mum and dad spent their honeymoon here many years ago. Communicated this to the hotel, not that we necessarily expected anything as such, but a mention at check in would have been a nice experience/acknowledgement, for a 5* establishment the comms from reservations to front desk staff for attention/attentiveness seemed lacking first off.
They did send a small cake to the room later, which was lovely, however we were out all afternoon and ate out and didnt get it until late at night when full of food... but the thought, albeit timing didnt work, was a nice touch.
All in all the stay was nice, I guess my personal expectations of such a renowned hotel were maybe too much and I should have made more definitive requests directly :-)

Very Good
Very pleasant - well decorated rooms and excellent be and bedding
Not much. I think its poor though to sneak a front house staff service charge on the bill. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth and undid all the good work done by the staff. These people are important to what we are paying for and if they feel they arent being paid enough its down the them to tell their bosses. Dont try to fleece it off your most important people to the business - your customers.

Breakfast buffet option selected offered a good variety of food and included a main (we chose omelets most days) We also had a high tea at the Ruebens which was lovely and a good selection that met gluten-free request.
A short walk to Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, and even down to Westminster Abbey was reasonable distance ,

Wonderful
I chose this hotel due to its location close to where a planned event was taking place. The hotel was exactly what I had hoped for with a great room and breakfast the next morning. An early drink at the bar with a lady singer was a bonus and thoroughly enjoyable.
There was NOTHING not to like!!
