Set in central London's fashionable Clerkenwell area, The Rookery offers charming rooms with elegant period furnishings and free WiFi. Only 328 feet from Farringdon Railway Station, the small hotel is also just 5 minutes' walk from Barbican Tube Station. With sumptuous antique furniture and artwork, each individually styled and air-conditioned room offers a flat-screen LCD TV. The luxury private bathrooms boast land&water toiletries and a hairdryer. In the mornings, guests at The Rookery can enjoy breakfast in the elegant conservatory or served to the privacy of the room. Breakfast includes freshly baked croissants. For lunch and evening meals, there is a room service menu as well as a wide range of restaurants and bars in the immediate area. Set within a row of 18th-century houses, The Rookery still retains many original features. Guests can relax in the library or in front of an open fire in the oak-paneled lounge. By Smithfield Market and on the outskirts of London's financial Square Mile, The Rookery is just over 1 mile from South Bank’s Tate Modern gallery. Impressive St. Paul's Cathedral is only half a mile away.

The rooms, staff (really responsive, friendly and helpful). Good room service and breakfast (and reasonably priced). We were planning to eat supper and breakfast out, but really glad we ate at the hotel
Nothing. (Got a scratch from the intense, human-faced hotel cat, but entirely my fault.)

Very Good
The staff were very helpful, and the vibes were spot on based on what you would expect from the pictures. Public transport is super good as Farringdon station is nearby. 24 hour room service + self service g&t bar is great. It felt like a very authenthic experience from the past, and if this is what you're after, I think you'll love this place
For the price you would expect more extras included. The room/hotel doesn't just look old, it is old with all that entails. Our room had very bad ventilation, and the windows were very difficult to open. (1 layer modern and 1 layer old sliding window). The wardrobes were small and difficult to open. The bathtub, while beautiful, was also impractical to use as water was splashing everywhere.

The whole ambience of the hotel with the exceptional staff made me feel really safe in central London - I checked in around 1630 and needed to catch up on work - I did not leave the room until the next morning because I felt so comfortable and chilled in the facilities thank you
Nothing at all...

Very Poor
Hotel was full of historical character which is why we chose it to enjoy a little opulence as the highlight of our trip in the UK. There were beautiful public rooms to sit in which were filled with lovely antique furniture and period features. The hotel staff were very helpful.
THE NOISE AT NIGHT! Every night there was a queue of hundreds of young people waiting to enter a nightclub round the corner - our room on the 3rd floor overlooking the street heard everything! Them shouting screaming, laughing, talking and carrying on. This was incredibly loud despite our windows and shutters being closed and went on for hours late at night / early morning keeping us awake.

Wonderful
location is excellent for public transport around London. Beautiful room design.
Stayed at he upper floor where the ceiling was quite low. For anyone above 2m tall it would be uncomfortable. Low sound insulation between the room and hall.

Very Good
Beautiful old building in excellent location with lots of character. very comfortable rooms.
Not having complementary kettle and tea/coffee in the room was a bit disappointing. With it being an old building the walls are a bit thin and you can hear guests in the neighbouring rooms.
