Set in central London's fashionable Clerkenwell area, The Rookery offers charming rooms with elegant period furnishings and free WiFi. Only 328 feet from Farringdon Railway Station, the small hotel is also just 5 minutes' walk from Barbican Tube Station. With sumptuous antique furniture and artwork, each individually styled and air-conditioned room offers a flat-screen LCD TV. The luxury private bathrooms boast land&water toiletries and a hairdryer. In the mornings, guests at The Rookery can enjoy breakfast in the elegant conservatory or served to the privacy of the room. Breakfast includes freshly baked croissants. For lunch and evening meals, there is a room service menu as well as a wide range of restaurants and bars in the immediate area. Set within a row of 18th-century houses, The Rookery still retains many original features. Guests can relax in the library or in front of an open fire in the oak-paneled lounge. By Smithfield Market and on the outskirts of London's financial Square Mile, The Rookery is just over 1 mile from South Bank’s Tate Modern gallery. Impressive St. Paul's Cathedral is only half a mile away.

Wonderful
So much to like, it’s unique and warm with lovely staff, total find in central London I will 100% be back!
Only thing is it’s near fabric so Cowcross st gets v noisy after 10pm

Wonderful
Great really traditional hotel, superb staff and extremely helpful. We felt our room was a little too dark so it made reading a little difficult. Did not like the bath/shower arrangement. Look forward to our next visit but would go for a room with a shower.

Very Good
We loved the room and the furniture. The staff were lovely and location good.
The air conditioning didn’t seem to work well and there was one evening where the noise from the nightclub or street party was unbearable from 11pm - 4am so we got no sleep.

Great place, quirky, honesty bar, beautiful lounges downstairs and garden room, resident cat, great location. A slice of history. Unique.
My bathroom was very odd! But thats what it's all about so it expect quirkiness! Clean however, just a bit ominous with the dark wooden high throne you step up to for the loo!

Wonderful
The bed was super comfy, the bed sheets really soft and the room spacious enough. It really looked like in the pictures and the bathroom was also quit spacious and well designed. The staff was incredibly helpful as well!
The sink was a bit too low to wash your face, the faucets were badly oriented. Rather that that, I have nothing to say!

Wonderful
It's a quirky, bohemian, boutique hotel with a lot of old fashioned charm, character and features. Lots of history, period features and decadent decor. Bed was particularly comfortable. Shower was great although not sure about the figure hugging shower curtain.
Small thing. Access to tea and or coffee and a kettle in the room. There was plenty of other stuff there, wines, beers snacks etc but nothing for a hot drink.

The hotel is very close to Farringdon station, perfect for our connection at Gatwick. The interior design is atmospheric & well done, in keeping with the history of the area. We have stayed here before, so our repeat visit is testament to how much we like this place.

The style and location and staff. Everything. If you are attending an event at The Barbican this is the perfect place to stay. Similar but different to its sister hotel, Batty Langley’s, in Spitalfields which I have also used.
It didn’t bother me at all but bear in mind there may be noise from setting up Smithfield Market during the night. I still slept well though and found the market interesting.

The room was incredibly beautiful and comfy and the aircon was a lifesaver for a hot June stay. Breakfast in the room was perfect for my fiancé's birthday as he loves brick lane beigels. The hotel cat was the highlight of our stay - so chilled out.
