Nowhere did it mention that the property is under renovation, with scaffolding covering over half of the hotel. Booked one of the better rooms and was shown a dingy and dark room, window covered in scaffolding. Declined and was shown another room, nice but on the ground floor :| no thanks, was shown another room, but pretty sure it wasn’t the type that I booked - accepted but tbh, I was just glad that it wasn’t on the ground floor and covered in scaffolding. Me and my family stay here regularly - shame that this is how they treat regulars.

Great location, welcoming staff, lovely decor and vibe.
The bed mattress was saggy and felt almost like sleeping in a hammock. There was a big hump in the middle of the bed, which made the bed quite uneven. When we arrived, we were informed that there was scaffolding outside the room windows, due to maintenance to the outside of the building by the council. If we had known this prior to our arrival, we probably would have cancelled and re-booked elsewhere as it obstructed any outlook from the window.

The photos of the rooms are not real. Our rooms were smaller than it seems. They lack of details, as they presume to be a 5 star boutique hotel, they should.

Great location, wonderful staff and beautiful drawing room! We arrived before check-in, and they took care of our luggage and brought us tea in the gorgeous drawing room. We loved walking to the Natural History Museum so easily.
It was all wonderful.
