The whole stay was lovely
On check out the hotel tried to charge us an additional service charge which I thought was quite cheeky as the price for the hotel was high anyway.

Fabulous little hotel! Couldn't fault anything - staff lovely, room service great (best cheeseburger I've had for a long time!) - used to live very close to the hotel so was lovely to be in that neighbourhood again! Also the most comfortable bed I've slept in in a hotel!

Room was small but very comfortable. Complimentary water and milk was great. All employees very helpful. Breakfast was excellent and female staff great. Male restaurant staff not great!
Wifi was terrible. Shower needed fixing bc it kept coughing and didn't drain. Vent in bathroom didn't work entire time. Curtain broken so it didn't shut all the way. Lobby always smelled like cheese and farts!

y Horrific Stay at The Pelham Hotel: Privacy Breach and Theft The following is my true experience during my stay at Room 306 of The Pelham Hotel from October 9th to 13th, 2025, hoping to serve as a warning for other travelers. On the first day after checking in and entering the room, a hotel staff member pushed the door open and walked in without knocking. My partner was naked at that moment, which scared us out of our wits. After entering, the staff member showed no apology at all. He only casually explained that he "received a notice from a colleague that the room was unoccupied" and even asked my partner if he could speak English. In any decent hotel, "knocking before entering" is a basic practice to protect guests' privacy and the minimum respect for guests, which The Pelham Hotel obviously failed miserably. What made us even angrier was that around 1:00 p.m. on October 12th, while we were out for coffee, we received consecutive consumption alerts on two credit cards - a total of 7 transactions were made on the Asos website. We immediately returned to the hotel and found that although the credit cards were still with us, the card information had been stolen. At the same time, we checked our cash: my partner lost 50 pounds, and over 1,200 pounds was stolen from my wallet. We contacted the hotel immediately for help, but no one could provide any solution. The hotel general manager also failed to arrive at the hotel in time. We had no choice but to wait until 9:00 a.m. on the 13th to meet with General Manager Ryan. However, the only response he gave was "we need to wait for the investigation results". Now we have returned to China and are still waiting for the final result of the incident. Pelham Hotel's performance in guest privacy protection, accommodation safety management and personal information security is completely inconsistent with its pricing.

Nowhere did it mention that the property is under renovation, with scaffolding covering over half of the hotel. Booked one of the better rooms and was shown a dingy and dark room, window covered in scaffolding. Declined and was shown another room, nice but on the ground floor :| no thanks, was shown another room, but pretty sure it wasn’t the type that I booked - accepted but tbh, I was just glad that it wasn’t on the ground floor and covered in scaffolding. Me and my family stay here regularly - shame that this is how they treat regulars.
