Wonderful
Perfect location and staff excellent. Always try to stay here when in London for the night.
I was a little surprised to get a knock on door from housekeeping manager at 11:05 to check I was leaving. I was literally zipping my case, but have never had that before there and felt it was a little rude. I was 5 mins late, and rest of staff had been excellent, even remembering the room had last time.

Good
Location was good. Staff were courteous & welcoming. Nice enough decor & facilities.
It was very pricey for what was a pretty average room, billed as superior but very small. All the taps in the bathroom leaked non-stop, a constant trickle from the shower & the sink. When we arrived there was a piece of loo roll with lipstick on it in the loo suggesting a not very thorough clean (although it seemed clean enough everywhere else so maybe this was an oversight). Very noisy hum of an AC unit outside which meant window had to be shut & you could still hear it at night. What I really didn’t like was being presented with a bill that included a service charge which we were given the option of declining but that looks churlish when you are placed in that position. You should pay staff enough that they don’t require ‘tips’ to be added to the bill. It was all the more awkward because they initially charged us for breakfast which was included in the rate when we booked. So I’d already questioned the invoice once and didn’t want to have to ask for this to be removed again. Service was charged on the room and the breakfast so added another £20 odd to the bill.

The room, a Junior Suite (?) was spacious, very confortable.
It is definatelly not a 5 stars hotel.
Staff is junior.
The hotel is not in good shape. Kind of a little decadent.
Breakfast was identical everyday. No imagination.
The carpet on the room may need a deep clean. Whenever I entered the room, my renite appeared.

Very stylish decor.
Some rooms are not accessible by lift so this may be an issue for some.

The atmosphere of this grand old Georgian house. The friendly staff and yummy breakfast
The soft furnishings and wallpaper are looking a little tired, time for a revamp

Pleasant
Classic central London hotel. That is a little small but cosy. Great location obviously
Shower didn’t get hot enough and you had to turn the bath cold water on to get a better temperature. A few stains on the carpet give the wrong impression and surely can be easily cleaned

Location is perfect, right across the South Kensington tube station. This is a classic hotel with very comfortable rooms, and good soundproofing as I barely heard anything at night. Cold and hot water worked perfectly, and when I requested an iron they brought it right away. Staff is cheerful and quick to help. There is a calmness once you go into the hotel (perhaps because it is not a big chain) which I appreciated very much after a day's work. Would recommend it without a doubt. Breakfast was lovely.
I chose the less expensive room category, and I will try to select a higher category next time. There were no views at all, which did not really matter as I spent the whole day out and came back only to sleep, but it would have been nice to have a window to the street. Again, this is on me and the hotel was a 10 in every way.
