Set in the former Midland Bank building in the City of London, just steps from Bank Station, The Ned hosts 250 bedrooms, ten restaurants and a range of men’s and women’s grooming services. The Grade I-listed building was designed by Sir Edwin 'Ned' Lutyens in 1924. Each bedroom at The Ned features elements of design back to the 1920's and 1930’s and includes vintage pieces, patterned furnishings and rainforest showers. The former Grand Banking Hall is host to restaurants which serve a wide range of cuisines, from Britain to Northern Italy, North America to Asia. Six private hire rooms and two terraces are at guests’ disposal. They all have a reception area. Ned’s Club Spa offers a variety of treatments – from manicures and pedicures, to massages and hair services. The private member's spaces, Ned's Club Gym and Ned's Club Spa pool may be accessed through purchasing day passes, subject to availability. The property is within a short walk from St. Paul’s Cathedral and within 15 minutes from Oxford Street and the West End, by tube. Bank Station also offers a direct DLR connection to London City Airport, which can be reached in 30 minutes.

When we booked, we upgraded to a King Room, worth the extra. They have very limited parking at a price, but worth every penny. Assisted by the concierge, Massoum (hope I am correct), he could not do enough and was a great help. Check in (early) was smooth and without issue. The room was opposite a fellow traveller, we were attending a wedding at St Paul's Cathedral and the location could not be better. Everything you want in the wardrobe, hairdryer, steamer and shoe horn etc. Bed was excellent as was the choice of pillow, slept very well. Just loved it. Made better by excellent staff. Great for people watching from the bar.
Struggled to get there, the sat nav encountered issues as a road was partially closed. Being extremely picky, the towel rail was in the most awkward place! Above the toilet. No bath, but the shower was excellent.

Absolutely stunning surroundings perfect. From the front door our cases where taken from us and the whole experience was fantastic even to the man that had to help us work the air con Everyone was fantastic and we made good memories
Dealing with the Ned’s reservations desk was not the best advertising for them early on in asking about rooms…

We liked the location and ease to get everywhere, we were there for a wedding so was perfect to get around. We loved the live music and a drink in the nickel bar.
We thought the service was incredibly poor for the price paid, in the nickel bar we had to wait 30 mins to get a drink. We thought breakfast was disappointing, we asked for milk with our coffee, never came. Asked for water, never came. We ordered a juice and it got put on the table without ice or a glass. We had our room cleaned as there for two days but wasn’t given fresh milk or water so had no milk for coffee the second morning. We asked for turndown both nights, didn’t happen. We had lunch in the Italian and again, service was very poor and felt ignored. We were surprised with service as stayed in other hotels of the same quality and they were all round much better.

Wonderful
Cosy Room -cosy but plenty of space. The non-stop music offered - mood music during the day, something a bit more loud into the evening The range of restaurants. We used Milly's for food -at various, quality all excellent. Still had the ambiance of a very grand Bank -liked that history Excellent front of house, doormen who wafted us in, reception (Isis) all very welcoming We were taking a train from Liverpool Street Station - so the location couldn't have been better
Quibbles really. Would have liked a bit more shelf space in the bathroom around the sink -seem to collect more items as I get older! Felt the breakfast team at Milly's on Sunday morning lacked some attention to detail . When I finished my cooked breakfast the empty plate wasn't removed and I had to use it for toast. The coffee was very lukewarm. No problem with the food
