Wonderful
Location was excellent, on a lovely street with easy access to so many parts of the city. Staff were incredibly kind and helpful.
Room was on the smaller side, but that is expected for London. Some details were a bit dated, but the quintessential London experience made up for it.

Good
Very nice property with an English flare! Also the shower was so hot and absolutely perfect!
They applied an ‘optional’ service charge of about $20 per day as a tip for the staff. I was unaware that this was a thing, and it made me feel very awkward asking to have it removed.

The service in this hotel is outstanding!
We discovered a broken floor tile in the bathroom of our room the first night we were there and after mentioning this to the front desk, the deputy manager Neil, stepped in and upgraded our room to a suite.
The suite was something else and one of the best rooms I have ever stayed in.
I would like to thank Neil for his outstanding customer service which greatly improved our customer experience.
Other things to note were:
- Friendly and courteous staff. Nothing was too much trouble.
- A nice touch was the 'lemonade' in the lounge which was very welcome after a trek across town.
- The rooms were of a high standard with top floor rooms having a nice view over the garden.
- very quiet given this was the centre of London.
Nothing really, except that the hotel is a 10 minutes walk to the nearest train station.

Excellent service all around. Breakfast was very good. Great location next to British Museum and within walking distance of Covent Gardens and several Underground stations. Staff very helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

Good
Great location, clean rooms well serviced, comfortable bed, reasonable bathroom and the staff are helpful.
The bedrooms are small as is the bathroom.
I also find the tip (a service fee by any other description) offensive. Pay your employees properly and factor that into the price of the room don’t demean your brand by asking for a tip for services I’m already paying for and expecting and for which you should already be paying them.

This hotel exceeded expectations in every category. The decor is beautiful, the Staff are amazing, the bed and room extremely comfortable, and every small detail has been considered. We had a lovely welcome and birthday treat waiting in our room, and nothing was too much trouble. Considering everything it was great value for a great location in London. We liked adding Staff gratuities to the final bill instead of tipping especially as we don't carry cash anymore. We had a flying visit for one night but will return for more leisure time in the lovely welcoming atmosphere. Super job done by everyone thank you!
Our visit too short!

The staff was excellent. They strike the right balance between professionalism and friendliness. The location is perfect for exploring central London.
Afternoon tea at the restaurant was substandard. The tea selection was excellent but the sandwiches and pastries were basic.

Very Good
Third stay at the Montague. We love the staff, they are all friendly, happy people who made sure our stay was memorable. Rooms are small but perfectly formed, comfortable and spotlessly clean. On a side note we did not like the automatic inclusion of a discretionary £15 per night for ‘hotel service charge’. Please have a rethink on that one! Just feels like a stealth increase in room price.
