Wonderful
The locations excellent , for food , shopping , gyms , transport , events , theatre , art . The hotel entrance is like an entrance to German techno club Bergheim or art installation , even the entrance is an experience . The steam room is excellent , quite hot , the cocktails , food , vibe etc it’s all impecable really . They even had gong healing meditation and reiki . Just wow . I loved it .
One niggly thing . The steam room is included for hotel guests but if one wants to use the salt scrub or mud that’s in the steam room area that’s an extra £120 and well that’s got to change . There’s a floatation tank for another £120 & not a pool so if the only thing the guests can use is the steam room , well then guests really shouldn’t be charged £120 for that .

Good
Beautiful hotel, however disappointed with the bar closing very early for such an establishment. I upgraded to the best suite as the terrace rooms were small for the price. If you are charging £600 + for a small room, then you expect all of the communal areas ie bar to be open later. The barman informed me they would stop serving cocktails at 2130 !!!! The Mandrake suite was very nice but the room needs to be checked before hand to make sure it’s all in good order. Telephone didn’t work, one TV didn’t work, radio didn’t work, bathrobes missing, drench shower broken . For what is quite a hefty price I expect these things to be perfect .
Bar closing early, a lot of details in an expensive room where not checked to make sure they are working.

Disappointing
The hotel facilities albeit not extensive are beautiful. I have particulatly enjoyed the artworks and design of the space over the years.
The personnel needs more training as those at the reception have become ruder, more impacient and less accomodating to customers. As a 5 star hotel, the experience should be seemless and the staff very friendly. I have been well treated by Simone Strnad. However, other people at the reception have not been welcoming and friendly during my recent stays. The experience at the hotel does simply not feel like that of a 5 star hotel and I am unsurprised that the rating has gone below 8 on Booking.

Wonderful
The quirkiness of the decor and the rooms were lovely.
For the level of hotel, we had to ask for another bathrobe (as a staying couple they only supplied one on arrival!? ) also had to ask for them to replenish the coffee and water. This all should have been automatic.
Breakfast on day one was nice, in the restaurant. However breakfast on the following two occasions was up stairs in the garden room. Cold iron seats to sit on, no cushions, service was very slow and when the food did eventually arrive it was cold!
They would have been better keeping it in the restaurant although don’t think this would have improved the food quality. Disappointing for the level of accommodation.

A very unique hotel, amazingly decorated and an awesome hidden baclony if you choose the terrace option. Friendly and helpful staff.
For the price, the room was quite small. However, it was well laid out and with the bonus of a baclony, I am not complaining too much :)
