Wonderful
The location and its history
It’s a little dated but that adds to the ambience

It looked great, everything looked like class.
Overall, the hotel looked good and had plenty going for it, but the stay was let down by a surprising lack of attention to basic comfort and guest experience.
There was no hot water at 8am, which really should not happen in a hotel. The electric sockets were placed in awkward, inaccessible positions, and the bedroom lighting was poor, particularly for anyone needing to do make-up properly.
The coffee machine was a nice touch, but providing only one pod felt rather mean and under-thought.
The biggest disappointment, though, was the welcome in the bar. We arrived at around 11pm and were greeted with “Have you booked?” rather than a warm welcome or any sense of “How can we help?” That may be a process issue, but it came across as unwelcoming.
So, while the hotel presents well, it needs to focus more on practical comfort and hospitality. These are not luxuries. They are the basics.

Bed really comfy with luxury bedding.
Very convenient for the Albert hall
Room is beginning to get shabby. No mirror to dry hair.
Taps on the wrong way round and couldn't turn the shower head off. Bath very high to climb into.

Perfect location for our event at the Royal Albert Hall
The room was beautiful
The bed was so comfortable, especially the sheets
The staff were warm, friendly and helpful
The breakfast was delicious and served in a gorgeous room
One small thing
The mirror in the bathroom was very small and mounted too high to be of any use. Yes a magnifying mirror on a little stand was provided but that meant I couldn’t use the mirror by the sink. There was more than enough room on the wall to mount a proper usable mirror. With decent light to apply makeup

Pleasant
The location is perfect for the Royal Albert Hall, and the London Museums. The bar has a great vibe and the staff are friendly and helpful. The decor is early 20th century London aristocratic grandeur with a touch of 60s rock scene through their link with The Rolling Stones. It’s quirky and great for one night.
We were upgraded to the Queen Elizabeth Suite which is full of QE memorabilia and a 4 poster bed. All good and would have been positive if the plumbing in the relatively more modern bathroom worked as planned. It didn’t and we endured a shower that sprayed the entire room, a temperature control that just had a mind of its own and a toilet cistern that was so powerful it would wake the dead and soak everything around it when flushed. Not so good.
