Exceptional
Character of building, style of decor and rooms. Interesting spaces and had a life of its own. Cocktails were good and bar + staff friendly.
Restaurant never seems to be open each time I have visited. But bar food was okay.

Heating wasnt working. Plumbing not great in some of the rooms. Very expensive food and drinks.

Good
Location and charming staff. Excellent breakfast.
Putting a daily service charge on the room was unexpected. I should have queried it on checkout, especially as we put a do not disturb sign on our room for our three day stay.

Its location is superb for the things i like to do in london - the ambience is splendid and completely charming- very 19th cenrtury england - the staff could not be more hosipitable and helpful - from the concierges, to the barman (who mixes a wicked old fashioned) to the restaurant staff to the cleaners
My room was tiny - it was described as a superior double updgrade - and there wad barely enough room for the bed, the suitcase and a small desk - very tight quarters - doable and a bit more space would have been most welcome.

A nice traditional old London hotel and the location was perfect for the Albert Hall

Pleasant
Staff were helpful and very considerate, guests were mostly awful, full of self importance and rude to everybody. Breakfast was hot, tasty and well presented. Room needed a lift and a few attentions to detail.
Pillows were few and very flat, wallpaper was coming away from walls, bath drainage hole was full of grime and sink leaked when in use.

Wonderful
Beautiful building with friendly staff and good food. Excellent for visiting The Albert Hall and Kensington gardens which are a 5 minute walk away.
The bathroom in our room was a little tired. Otherwise it was very well maintained.

Very Good
Wonderfully flamboyant and glamorous. Over the top Victorian style decor not my usual taste but in this case more is more. Everywhere very comfortable and clean. The bar is a unique space
The room was very small and the price very high for what it was, despite the excellent location
