The Dorchester really is a home away from home. They made us feel like royalty. The catered not only for my birthday but also my little niece.

My sister and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Dorchester in London, and it’s safe to say they’ve ruined us for every other hotel in the city.
From the moment we arrived, the attention to detail was impeccable. The floral arrangements and art pieces throughout the hotel are stunning — effortless elegance at every turn. But what really stood out was the level of care for our safety. We’d left some expensive jewelry out in the room, and when we returned in the evening, it had been securely locked away. The staff politely asked us to contact security to retrieve it. That’s the kind of precision and discretion you don’t often see, and it speaks volumes about the standards here.
A special mention to Tomasso, one of the breakfast waiters. He was incredibly detail-oriented and took genuine care of us, especially handling my sister’s food allergies to a T. Nothing was overlooked, and it made the experience feel both personal and effortless.
We won’t be staying anywhere else in London after this. The Dorchester has set the bar far too high.

We used the spa st 45 Park Lane.
Visited the Vesper Bar, Promenade room and had dinner in the Grill, the food was perfect!

My communications with the hotel via Booking.com were well received and this excellent service continued when we arrived at Paddington and were collected by the driver and the door and reception staff when we arrived at the hotel. We were taken to our rooms one of which i upgraded and they were immaculately presented plus a really special surprise was that the hotel had provided me with some lovely cakes and a bottle of chilled champagne for my birthday. Afternoon tea in the Promenade was amazing but i do feel that ‘service charges’ and ‘tipping’ are best calculated in total at the end of a stay which i know is a method adopted by other London hotels so i did not appreciate the service charge attached to the afternoon tea i felt it was excessive. The hotel pool located in the sister hotel was fantastic we loved our couple of hours in there relaxing. The breakfast in the grill both mornings were exceptional and i would probably choose this option every time i stay at this hotel.
I believe that ‘service charges’ and ‘tipping’ should be added or requested at the end of a hotel stay so that the funds are spread between all the staff that have been encountered and not just front of house so i did not appreciate the excessive service charge that was added onto an already expensive afternoon tea. I could not book a massage for myself and the fact that the pool is in a different building to the hotel i was a little disappointed about. The hotel is pricey but you need only to look around and then relish the comfort of the beds to realise where the money goes!
