Funny smell in my room that smelt like a strong disinfectant trying to cover up damp/mold..Maybe from whatever was causing the wallpaper to peel along one of the seams on the outer bathroom wall
I asked if I could be moved to a different room but was told the hotel was fully booked. I found this confusing as they allocated my room at 9:30am when I arrived early to drop my bag off, and I assume had I arrived later in the day, I’d have likely been allocated another room that had been checked out of. Seems by arriving early, I ended up with a less favourable room.
Not a 5 star experience.

Everything from checking in with Fod (an exceptional host who made us feel so welcome) to the lovely, comfy room and amazing steam shower. I'd never heard of Virgin hotels, but I'd 100% stay again!

We had a fantastic stay at Virgin Hotels London-Shoreditch. The location is amazing -lively, convenient and perfectly placed for exploring London, with so much within easy reach. The rooftop pool and restaurant are beautiful - and the gym is fully equipped, modern with all technogym equipment- really really good.
What really made our stay exceptional, though, was the wonderful team. Every member of staff we encountered was warm, attentive and genuinely helpful. When my husband became unwell during our stay, they went above and beyond to look after him and make sure we had everything we needed. Their kindness and care meant so much to us and made a difficult moment far easier.
Beautiful hotel, brilliant location and truly outstanding hospitality. We would absolutely stay again and highly recommend it.
