The hotel has an excellent location, very convenient for transportation and sightseeing. The room was comfortable, and the property overall has a good atmosphere. Some staff members were helpful and polite.
There was a serious issue with payment handling and internal communication. I paid for an extension using my credit card via Apple Pay with the morning reception staff, but when I returned to the hotel at night, my room key was deactivated and I was told the payment was not recorded. Despite showing bank confirmation, I was asked for an authorization code and could not access my room until the issue was resolved. The same problem happened again at checkout, which caused unnecessary stress and confusion.

Location was perfect. The rooms were quite small but thats usual for central london. The main thing was that it was quiet so we got a good nights sleep.
Its a little dated. Used to be the Hard Rock Hotel so the music memorabilia does now look a little out of place and dated.

Our room location
My kids got sick they catch a virus also we asked for help I the middle of the night to change our bed sheet and they were not able to do so because they didn’t have a cleaner in the night so we had to cover ourself with towel and then the next day the cleaner didn’t clean the floor well or cashmere room problem

Great location, very comfortable room, fantastic breakfast.
The elevators were not doing a good job. We often had to choose the stairs instead because there was too many people waiting for one elevator. The omelet line at breakfast is under staffed . The line was over 10 minutes for all 3 days I was there.

Disappointing
the location of the property was good and the safety
everything basically. Extremely rude staff and it takes them 2 hours to pick up the phone when we call, we have asked them to change the bedsheets for 3 days and no action was taken at all until we went down and asked for the manager. This is not the first time i stay at the cumberland but definitely my last i didn’t expect it to be this bad.

The property smells so bad. Not clean. Even the rooms, they change the bed and towels every two days. If the towels were on the floor (not clean) they put them back on the hangers..

Wonderful
The location is great. Walking distance to many shops and right next to a metro station. The room we booked was spacious and the our request for a quiet room was considered which made all the difference to our stay.
My friend arrived first, a while after the check-in time listed by the property and was informed that the room was still being prepared. She had to wait around an hour or so (took a walk around the property meanwhile cause the location is great. But still not convenient cause she needed to rest). Once she was given the room it turned out that the room’s door was not working properly, the lock didn’t work and it was hard to close the door. We contacted the staff about the issue and were given another room the next day. The door worked fine and it had a bathtub. ? A rough start but we continued to have a peaceful stay. I have tried their room service and ordered fish and chips. It was yummy ? Just note that when checking out, I would recommend bringing your own luggage down to the lobby as it is definitely quicker. I had to wait around 40 mins to get my luggage from the room to the lobby. Not a deal breaker, just so you’d be able to time manage better. But overall, the staff were honestly very friendly and helpful and I definitely recommend the property!

Wonderful
Staff were super helpful especially Filmon for checking in Location opposite to big primark, 2 minutes walk toarvle arch underground station, pret a manager, sainsbery supermarket Clean, staff very helpful & nice, green vouchers were a plus for morning coffee/breakfast Wish they don’t increase rates cz it wasn’t cheap in the first place lol

The location was fantastic. So central. The staff was friendly and polite. Especially the Manager Farah. We had a little hiccup but she handled it and had it sorted out wonderfully.
It is a bit outdated. Cleanliness could also be focused on a little more.
