Overall, the hotel was fine, but I felt the room was a bit small for the price. The king-size bed was smaller than expected, and the towels could use some updating. With a few improvements, the experience would be better.

I am contacting to you regarding my check in experience at the Cumberland. I am due to check in today August 15th with a checkout date of August 18th. I am appalled and shocked with the experience I have received. I arrived around 10 am at the hotel. I understand that check-in is at 3pm. However, I was informed that there is a delay with the house working due to some staff absences. I expected the delay would be around an hour max. Now it’s almost 8pm and I have still not received my room. This service was abysmal as I have not showered or rested since my morning flight. After speaking to the hotel they only offered a 100 GBP compensation despite prepaying 700 GBP. This kind of offer is not acceptable to compensate for the delay. I demand an investigation into this matter and I will surely escalate this issue to the highest level of management.
I hope you give me half the money back. I arrived at the hotel at 10 am and received the room at 7:45 pm.

The location is excellent, directly in front of Hyde Park and on Oxford Street, just a few steps from Edgware Road. Reception services are good and the staff are helpful. However, room service is poor, and housekeeping does not clean the room unless you call them several times.

Location was perfect. The rooms were quite small but thats usual for central london. The main thing was that it was quiet so we got a good nights sleep.
Its a little dated. Used to be the Hard Rock Hotel so the music memorabilia does now look a little out of place and dated.

The hotel has an excellent location, very convenient for transportation and sightseeing. The room was comfortable, and the property overall has a good atmosphere. Some staff members were helpful and polite.
There was a serious issue with payment handling and internal communication. I paid for an extension using my credit card via Apple Pay with the morning reception staff, but when I returned to the hotel at night, my room key was deactivated and I was told the payment was not recorded. Despite showing bank confirmation, I was asked for an authorization code and could not access my room until the issue was resolved. The same problem happened again at checkout, which caused unnecessary stress and confusion.
