The staff at this hotel were very helpful and friendly. Fantastic location for sights and transport. Room was clean with additional extras such as tea/coffee. Very comfy bed but the only problem was hearing everyone going past the room but I don't think there is much can be done about that.
People talking loudly in corridors but that is not the hotel's fault.

The lifts take forever also the room. Attendants were banging an the walls in the rooms adjoining while cleaning and were very loud

Top location. Close to Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, so many cafes, restaurants, shops of all kinds incl supermarkets and pharmacies. We walked to the British Museum, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace. Close to public transport. Room size was fine. Air con temperature was great, not too hot during Christmas period. All facilities in the room worked well, shower was good, bathroom had space for toiletries, room was clean, TV and internet worked fine. Linen was nice. Bed was comfortable. Got a small chocolate gift on arrival. On Christmas day we got 3 boxes of delicious fudge delivered to our room. We got 7 pounds credit at the restaurant/bar for not using house keeping for a couple of days during our 5 day stay. The breakfast had plenty of nice options incl hot english breakfast. GF options were available as were plant based milks and yoghurt. Christmas lunch was fine. The staff are very attentive, polite and helpful. Definitely would stay again.
The shower had a high step to get into it, not a problem for us but if you think it could be a problem for you then discuss with the hotel before booking.
No fridge in the room.
Only had one seat/chair for the two of us when we were sitting at the small table eating take-away in our room. A second seat, stool, chair would've made it more comfortable than eating on the bed.
No deal breakers though, it's still a great hotel.

We enjoyed the stay in Strand Palace. Bedroom was decent size, the b3d was so big for the two of us and sofa bed for my son. Thank you for lots of goodies for the New Year! Anthony the doorman is the real Ambassador of the Strand Hotel.

Disappointing
Location was perfect for our needs. Room was a nice size and position within the hotel. Breakfast was nothing special and I dont believe worth the cost.
The hotel very kindly laid on balloons and chocolates for our 30th anniversary celebration.
Miranda on reception was excellent and the duty manager when we checked out was receptive to our issues.
We had reserved a Superior King Room and when we arrived it was set up as a twin. It took well over an hour to sort out. In addition we reported that the Shower Head was broken and despite reception telling us at 9pm it had been fixed, when we went to the room it had not been touched. Another trip to reception meant we didn't get back into our room until 10pm.
Morning of checkout, the maid tried to get in the room at 09.10 whilst we were still getting ready. I put the Do Not disturb sign out but she came back and tried entering again. Thankfully I had put the bar across the lock.

Wonderful
1.Perfect location.
2.Great interior. Good choice of colours and comfy furniture.
3.Maintained elevator except one in corner was terrible and shaking.
4.I was hoping for mess to be cleared after fireworks crowd leave, there was massive massive puddle of whomp, food etc. I had to be extra careful. It is sad though for the hotel has great elevation and front look.
5. On exploring the area good restaurants, shops etc. For shopping etc.
6. I believe foccussing on positives increases their number.
I understand enviromental green cause but used toilet paper roll should not have been there for hygiene reasons atleast. I cannot vouchsafe any previous user toilet habits.
There was hair on toilet seat the first minute when i moved in.
The room was exceptionally cold and freezer like.
The TV manual how to get started was not available on table.
The thermostart was touch screen yet did not get started with me touch with my fingers. Ideally someone had to get the room ready five minutes prior my entering room for not a shock.
Ailing staff and on top of mission.
I think like cold weather there was missing khatirdaari(hospitality). My booking £389 was way too high as compared to availability at a later date nearly £125 less. Breakfast should have been included. As I say khatirdaari na keval kifayat. Tea pack incomplete. I did not like it.

Ordered room service, prepaid everything, they forgot to bring big water bottle I ordered (and prepaid). While I was checking out, I mentioned it to the reception, they said I had to go clarify it with the restaurant, even though I mentioned I have to leave to catch my train. Well, lost the 6 pounds they overcharge for the water bottle...

This hotel offers excellent value in the heart of London. The rooms are modern, neat and quiet. If you just want somewhere to sleep then this is the place.
Check-in could have been quicker.
