The hotel is very clean and the reception staff is very helpful and friendly.
I made this reservation and paid for it with my card, but when we arrived at the hotel, I was informed that we had to pay a £25 deposit. My partner made the payment with her card (we never handed it over, and it was a one-time transaction). Everything was fine until checkout, when the reception system (or the staff) decided to charge my partner’s card again for two extra nights, even though the stay was fully paid in advance. When I asked the manager for a refund, she said it would take seven days, which I found unacceptable since we never authorized this transaction. Basically, they made an unauthorized (and possibly fraudulent) charge, and we had to make a scene at reception just to get an answer. I’m currently waiting for the refund, but if it doesn’t arrive in the promised time, I will consider legal action. We were given no real explanation, only poor excuses. When I mentioned that I used to work in the hotel industry, the manager kept changing her story. In my opinion, this is completely unacceptable behavior, no matter the situation.

Room had everything we needed. It was a little small for a Superior Room but we also respected this was a large hotel catering for lots of guests. We decided not to eat in the main breakfast area, choosing to opt in their The Gin Room which we felt was a great choice. The service in there was exceptional and food really good. In the evening we returned from our theatre trip and had drinks and light bite food which was very good and again the service could not be faulted.
Room size (see above) could have been a bit bigger. There was not really anything else that we could fault with the hotel.

Great location for the West End, nice room, comfortable bed and very helpful staff. We were also offered a complimentary drink in the bar which was a welcoming touch.
My only comment would be that the lifts were a little slow.
