I’ve stayed at this hotel 4–5 times and have always been very satisfied—until this recent visit. The small touches that once elevated the experience to true 5-star standards were missing: no welcome drink and snack upon arrival, no chocolate at turn-down service—seemingly minor things, but they make a difference.
More concerning were the water issues. Both the shower and sink provided only scalding hot water. After reporting it, staff offered little confidence and told me to let the shower run for 10 minutes, which sometimes helped, but from an environmental perspective is very bad. At the sink, however, cold water only lasted a few seconds before turning boiling hot again—making simple things like brushing teeth or washing hands nearly impossible.
On my second complaint, I was taken more seriously and offered a room change, but with just one night left and it already being late, it felt pointless. I was told the manager would follow up, but by check-out the next day (17h after the second complaint), no one could have reached out and no compensation was offered yet.
All in all, this stay did not reflect the 5-star standard I had come to expect, and as a returning guest, I found the response and resolution disappointing.

San Domenico House is a charming and luxurious hotel. A real gem set in the heart of Chelsea.
The Staff stand out for professional approach, balancing discreetness and exquisite courtesy. A thousand thanks to these distinguished and efficient gentlemen.
The breakfast is very good and the waiters are really kind and attentive. Thanks to them too for the flawless service.
Rooms are extremely comfortable, clean and superbly decorated.
I look forward to my next stay and really recommend San Domenico House to everyone is looking for some beautiful days in London.

We arrived early and were kindly offered a tray of tea on the roof terrace whilst our room was prepared. I must say that we experienced excellent service from all staff throughout our stay. This place is so tastefully decorated, it really is the most charming well run hotel I have stayed at in London.

Staff were lovely. Only Continental Breakfast was included but wasnt aware of this when booking. It was beautiful though.
no tea / coffee facilities in room. Room is a little tired. Lacks plug sockets. Very noisy generator nearby during the night.
