The 5-star exterior and interior; very beautifully decorated.
The family room was very disappointing — it completely changed the way I see the Rosewood brand. Even with an extra bed, the level of comfort should be maintained, whether it’s the quality of the mattress or the layers of bedding. Also my kids kept hurting themselves on the extra bed wheels that stuck out!
In the first room we were given, the extra bed was placed right in front of the bathroom — unbelievable! The bed itself looked so cheap that we almost forgot we were staying at a Rosewood property and not some roadside motel.
I spent over £4,000 on this family room, and in the end, I couldn’t even be bothered to complain. I just know I won’t be coming back to this property again.

Breakfast a disappointment.
Ordered 1 extra grilled tomato. It arrived 20 minutes later, a single tomato on a naked plate and was charged at £9.
The hotel has no lounge, no peaceful space to maybe have tea, read papers. The bistro style restaurant has annoyingly loud music.
We stay at the hotel 2-3 times a year and still do not get the room we said we prefer. Why take customers’ preferences and then not act on them? Although we are repeat customers and have never been upgraded once.
Customer service is not high standard. Transactional.

The Rosewood London is a very chic, then again a very cosy place… It is very clean and comfortable. And the noisy atmosphere which you experience in most of the hotels in the mornings - when everyone leaves their rooms and the door bangs with a very loud noise - does not exist here:) Probably due to heavy carpeting.
I liked everything a lot; but the reception was a bit anxious about the standard credit card blockages: We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and ate all our dinnes at the Holborn Dining Room and had our drinks at the Scarfes Bar. However, reception wanted us to stop by them on our third night (literally at midnight) for the daily cc blockage. I know that this is their procedure; but, then again, I could not shake the feeling that our loyalty to the hotel is punished with the “urgent need of cc blockage in case we escape without paying our last 100 pounds”…:) If we were to do that, we would not have spent the previous ~ 600 pounds which they had already issued… I found this measure a bit disturbing actually.
