Its cleanliness, staff and strategic location
On 14 September night, there was a random drunk guest walking around in front of room 642. The said guest tried to open the door and knocked very hard. We were very disturbed by the situation and could not sleep.
Finally we called the receptionist to ask for help. Security were dispatched to secure the drunk guest.

We had The Level Premium Room with Executive Lounge Access. The room was a good size, comfortable bed and pillows.The lounge excess, in my opinion, was a must with a hotel that size as otherwise it gets crazy at breakfast time etc.
The hotel was much bigger than I expected. Check in took a very long time and then the room was not cleaned and prepared properly. I called housekeeping and they cleaned again then I had to call again as there was only one towel etc.

Great location. Very close to the tube station at Great Portland Street and my meeting venue. Amenable staff. Can open windows if you want. Shop in the hotel but v expensive and local supermarket next to tube.
The shower was broken so I had cold water dripping from the broken 'waterfall' shower head and had to use the hand held head away from the wall. I reported it but nothing was done to change it. Also the light in the shower flickered in a way which I imagine would be dangerous for anyone with susceptible medical conditions. There is a mini bar menu but the mini bar was empty and switched off. The pillows are awful - filled with lumpy chunks of foam. I did report the shower but was not told whether an engineer had taken a look and there was no difference on my second attempt.
