Convenient location close to the underground. Staff were kind and quick to check people in. Air con was nice to help beat the heat. Lobby was nice looking and the lift had a modern convenience to it.
Interconnecting rooms have thin walls and gaps under the doors. Can hear ranges of full conversation down to someone brushing their teeth or hanging up their clothes. The bed was alright but was a hard mattress with a soft topper. King bed was just two twin mattresses zipped up together. Cooked food at breakfast was cold to the point the following morning, we opted for colder options to stay on the safe side. Tile in the bathroom was broken, clear water damage near the shower and no toilet brush next to the toilet!

My stay at the Meilá White House in London was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had, and unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone based on both the accommodation and the level of customer service we received.
The biggest issue throughout our stay was the complete lack of communication between staff members. Every time I spoke to a member of staff, it seemed as though nothing was ever relayed to the next shift. There appeared to be no handover notes whatsoever regarding guest enquiries or ongoing issues, meaning I had to explain the same situation repeatedly to different members of staff. It was incredibly frustrating and gave the impression that nobody knew what was happening.
To make matters worse, the Family Suite advertised on Booking.com bears very little resemblance to the room we were actually given. The photographs and description are completely misleading. The listing advertises a Family Suite with one large double bed, two sofa beds, and two single beds. However, the room we received contained only one double bed and one sofa bed. This is a significant difference and completely unsuitable for the number of guests the room is advertised to accommodate. In my opinion, this is a completely false representation of the room and is extremely misleading for customers booking based on the information provided online.
After raising this issue, the morning hotel manager assured me with absolute confidence that I would be moved into another room that most closely matched the Family Suite I had originally booked. I was specifically told that while we were out for the day, the hotel would transfer all of our luggage into the new room, so we could simply return later and settle in.
Imagine my surprise when we came back to the hotel later that evening to discover that absolutely nothing had been done.

Reasonably well located- nice gym.
Hectically busy and staff attention to detail was poor.
I requested a second sheet in the heatwave and for my tv to be fixed and it was only sorted on day 3 of my stay.

Everything was first rate from the moment I stepped through the entrance to the hotel. Check in was fast, the room was lovely. I'd only been in my room when there was a knock on the door and a member of staff handed me a gift of a small bag of hand made chocolates in a lovely gift back - this was for clients who used Booking.com and a lovely little extra.

Disappointing
Historic deco hotel. Clean modern renovation.
Inefficient air conditioning. Room could not be properly cooled and it was plus 30 degrees in London. The lobby and public rooms were fine however. The room fridge was also set to low and so othe water was tepid. The beds were incredibly narrow in the twin room. They were also short-sheeted and had bad foam pillows. The staff was courteous but not well trained. The restaurant is not open for lunch and when we asked if there was lunch service in the bar we were told " no only nibbles". There were in fact burgers, club, sandwiches and other large lunch items as well as tapas and "nibbles".
Melia may have a net zero policy on limiting air conditioning, but it should be able to cool the room to a tolerable level for sleeping when occupied. The duty manager who answered my questions basically said sorry that is the company policy. No effort to address our concerns was made by staff, who left us with the impression that it was our problem. Not an ideal service model. Also as a final note, the renovations while attractive on the surface and in keeping with the art deco building are on the floor level cheaply executed. Vinyl flooring in the corridors is less suggestive of a luxury hotel experience; more an expectation that they might need hosing down. The experience as a whole was a disappointment and we are unlikely to return.
