Perfect location, close to the tube station. Great breakfast, nice big room… was a little dated, but they are in the process of updating the facilities

Very Good
Excellent location in central London with great connectivity. We stayed at The Dilly for 6 nights on a work trip and it was a great home in central London to come back to after a day of meetings and commuting. The breakfast was really great, offered in the glass covered Terrace on the second floor. I loved that we could start the day with a good breakfast and some newspapers/magazines to read to charge ourselves for the day ahead.
Nothing much not to like except the bed itself while not uncomfortable, it could have been more plush and luxurious at the price tag of the hotel.

Poor
The hotel staff is very nice, polite and kind. Great location.
This hotel is advertised as a 4-star property, but in reality it felt closer to a 2-star experience. The rooms had a dusty, musty odor, and the rooms had no proper ventilation, which made the smell even worse. The carpets were stained, the furniture was outdated, and overall cleanliness was disappointing.
One of the most frustrating parts was the lack of a proper phone system. There was no landline in the room to contact the lobby — instead, guests were expected to scan a WhatsApp QR code for communication. The only phone present was oddly located in the bathroom and seemed more decorative than functional.
To make matters worse, the fire alarm went off repeatedly during our stay, including once in the middle of the night, waking guests up in panic. In an emergency situation, not having a direct phone line to the front desk felt unacceptable.
That said, the lobby staff was pleasant and welcoming, and guest service at the front desk was one of the few positive parts of the stay.
Overall, this hotel did not meet the standards expected of a 4-star property in terms of cleanliness, comfort, and overall upkeep.

Good
Good location.
Breakfast area comfortable.
Room is very old. Squeaking floor.
Old furniture.
Shower is very low, water pressure low, so quite hard to fit in especially for taller people to have good shower.
Need some renovation.

Wonderful
Great location at Picadilly circus. 2 min from underground, very easy if you come from Heathrow by Picadilly line.
Big and comfortable room. pool and sauna were o.k after a long day, and rain outside...
Staff was very helpful and kind! Wine and coffee in the room were great.
I prefer a shower over baths. .We were missing a business lounge or other place to work in the hotel.

Very Poor
The location
During my stay at The Dilly with my wife, I had a very disappointing experience that does not reflect a 5-star hotel standard.
I booked a room through Booking.com from Saturday, May 3, 2026, to May 5, 2026. Unfortunately, the room condition was extremely poor. The air conditioning was not working, making the room uncomfortably hot, and the wooden floor was noisy, producing loud squeaking sounds with every step.
I reported the issue to the reception team and clearly stated that I was willing to pay extra to upgrade to a better room with proper air conditioning. However, I was told that no rooms were available and that this is the situation because the hotel is old. This response was particularly frustrating, especially since the lobby and corridors were well air-conditioned.
What was more disappointing was the indifferent and unprofessional attitude from the staff — something I have never experienced in a 5-star hotel before.
I requested to speak with the manager, explained the situation, but his response was not satisfactory. He simply mentioned that maintenance had been informed and that nothing more could be done. A technician was sent with a portable fan, but it was ineffective and only circulated warm air, which did not resolve the issue.

Hesham Afify

Pleasant
The Location The breakfast and the breakfast area.
I am 82 I was staying for 16 nights no shelves or dresser for my clothes. I live out of my suitcase. Lots of climbing stairs. I am in fairly good condition and the flights of stairs are exhausting. No mention of stairs in any ads for the property.

Wonderful
Beautiful room with daily service, the location was convenient and we were able to go everywhere we wanted either walking or with public transportation. The staff was very attentive.
The Television kept turning on in the middle of the night, and the casting was not working. We were using the bathrobes until they were taken away and not replaced.

The hotel has been recently renovated while still keeping its original charm, which we really loved! The location is ideal, especially with children, as it is very close to the metro, bus station and park.
The rooms are spacious and very clean. The staff is exceptional, with special attention given to children, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The reception team was truly charming and welcoming, specially Mr Hussein.

Very Poor
Only location.
I believe they invested nothing in the hotel because they relied on its good location. It's very old, worn, and dirty. The heating system doesn't work. Furthermore, I had problems with the water; muddy water flowed for a whole day and didn't return to normal. I needed to shower and wanted to leave because I didn't want to use that water, but they wouldn't pay for the remaining days. The breakfast was very inadequate. The only thing I liked during my stay was the location. I would never choose this place again. It can never be a 5-star hotel. It needs to be inspected.

Good
Location. Liked the lobby except for the construction. Front lobby staff pleasant. Bed very comfortable.
The TV screen turned on by itself every couple hours in the middle of night.
Confusion of their outlets- coffee maker and kettle not plugged in and it wasn't clear what outlet to use, they were all different.
