The front desk was professional and polite. The air conditioning worked. The saunas/steam room were turned on and hot!
The pictures are definitely edited or carefully created, because the inside of the hotel it’s different. Felt a little like a hostel inside, and there was a strange smell around our room. The furniture is decorative but standard, and the shower was OK. I booked this because it looked a little more classy than the usual holiday inn we get for the O2, but it turned out to just be OK and a bed to sleep at. I know it wasn’t overly expensive but underwhelming is how I’d describe it. Area is questionable, across from a college and an abandoned nursery, it’s just convenient because it’s next to the poplar stop. Wouldn’t want to be walking around there late at night, alone, especially if I was female. Staff were really nice though. What I will say is, the sauna doesn’t open until 9.. but I’d imagine a lot of guests will want to wake up, sauna, breakfast before then, especially if they have work.

Beautiful, characterful hotel in a quiet corner of Poplar, perfectly located just a few minutes walk from the DLR with frequent and quick connections to Bank and Central London. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and the gym and spa were great. I loved the sauna, and my peaceful,, cosy room on the top floor with L'Occitane toiletries.
The spa was a bit untidy, needs more regular cleaning and ongoing attendance – I could not find a staff member to get towels and a robe.

It was very quiet and clean the receptionist was very lovely, welcoming and friendly
There is a sauna and steam room but no swimming pool. It was confusing working out the lifts to the 3rd floor but once worked out was really easy.

The property is nice and grand feeling, it is clean and our room was clean.
A/C didn't work properly, the room was really hot. All controls for the room are done through the TV and the system is very clunky and doesn't really work properly. Also multiple plug sockets did not work. Mirrors in the room were positioned in areas of poor lighting.

The hotel
Looked really nice on pictures.
Room was big, no guidance in how to operate anything,
Air con was right next to bed and very loud kept waking us up.
Restaurant was full of flies and crockery was stained, unmatched could be so much better.

Beautiful building, lovely big bright rooms. Good location for Canary Wharf and short walk from transport. Staff were friendly. Lovely L’occitane toiletries in bathroom.
Missing things I’d expect for the price paid:
No hairdryer in room.
Air con controlled through TV was awkward.
Stairs in hotel room with mezzanine were quite slippy.
The hotel had an event on that we weren’t made aware of - it was in the courtyard outside our hotel window and was quite noisy - the music did stop by 9:30pm but could still hear chatter for quite a while afterwards, we needed an early night so just set back our sleep a bit.
