The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We dropped off our luggage in the morning to allow us to explore London. Asked for directions and these were given clearly and concisely. We hadn't booked for breakfast initially, but decided to add this on and that was not a problem at all. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean as was the bathroom. We were there for my friend's 50th birthday and they had decorated both beds with petals and one bed with balloons which was a nice touch. There was a wide choice for breakfast and it was fresh, hot and delicious.
I booked the hotel as it had Spa facilities and had planned to book a treatment, however, the spa facilities are no longer there, it only has a steam room and sauna, no pool either.

It was an amazing stay in a lovely hotel. I like the historical touches that nodded to the hotel's past and the explanation of the name. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our room was decorated in celebration of my birthday which was a super touch. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Our meal at the in house restaurant Its Thecha was a delicious bonus. The location was very convenient - a 2 minute walk from the tube station and perfect for our trip to ABBA voyage.

Lovely comfortable hotel. Came for a conference and prices are always elevated by local events. Normal pricing I suspect would represent good value for money.

The hotel looks very nice
There was no hot water in our room. When we complained we were told there is nothing that can be done and someone will come and fix it tomorrow. Nobody ever came. Also, the fire alarm needed its batteries cchanged and kept making sharp shrieking noises throughout the day. Again, nobody came to fix this. I raised the issues again on checkout and basically nobody cared.

Ideal location - handy for the DLR Nice vibe
The lift wasn’t working - having just had a knee replacement wasn’t easy to get around - either up to our room or down to the basement for breakfast. Perhaps an email out to all staying to warn of this would have been useful incase of potential difficulties
