Pleasant
15 minutes walk from canary wharf
The room did not have a luggage stand, so it had to stay layed in the floor. Even though I asked , the hotel could not provide me with a luggage stand.

Very Good
Convenient location for me.
Would have liked more info about the restaurant - didn’t realise there was one, heavy reliance on using the tv for hotel info which isn’t my thing.

The restaurant is excellent—best Indian dinner ever! Breakfast had lots of choices, including Indian, which we enjoyed very much.

Nothing, I would not recommend this place to anyone I know. From the outside it looks like a beautifully restored historical building, and it's an a nice, quiet street. That's it - unfortunately once we stepped inside nothing was pleasant!
Firstly, this is advertised as easily accessible from tube station, however a construction site currently turns a 5 min walk into a 20 min walk, through a not so pleasant area... This should be considered in the price! Secondly, our room was on the ground floor and the smell of the restaurant was unbearable (so much that we could not fall asleep). We informed the staff at reception and they were going to speak to the manager and get back to us, which never happened. It was also very noisy, as groups of people leaving the restaurant were hanging out in the lobby area after 10pm and the staff at reception didn't bother asking them to be quiet to consider other guests, or even close the lobby doors to reduce noise - my husband had to do it, which was very uncomfortable. This is definitely NOT 4-star accommodation, and the price should be reduced to manage expectations!

The room is clean and the location is a bit ok!
Everything is money! I told them we would like to celebrate my 35th marriage anniversary, however, they said they need money to decorate. From my personal feeling, just little thing prepared is so warm to us, ie. just a chocolate, etc. On the other, regard the room, we reserved Octogon room, but the toilet is very small comparative to the room size! And the bed is not so comfortable! Lastly, the breakfast is only merely acceptable!

Wonderful
Beautiful room, close to Canary Wharf and nice restaurant
The receptionist told us there was no need to book a table at the restaurant, which turned out to be completely wrong...do book a table since it can get full

Poor
Extremely Disappointing Stay During a Special Occasion
We recently stayed at the Lansbury Heritage Hotel to celebrate a special anniversary, but unfortunately, our experience fell far below expectations.
Upon arrival, we discovered that the air conditioning in our room was not working. We reported the issue to reception at approximately 4:00 PM and were assured it would be resolved promptly. However, when we returned just after midnight, the problem had not been addressed. The room was unbearably hot, and although there was a window, it could not be opened—leaving us with no way to cool the space or circulate fresh air. As a result, we endured a deeply uncomfortable night with very little sleep.
The following day, we were informed that this was a known fault affecting three rooms in the hotel. Despite this, there was no advance warning, no alternative accommodation offered, and no meaningful apology or compensation. We were told several times that someone would follow up with us via phone or email, but no one ever did.
This was meant to be a special and memorable occasion for us, and we were extremely disappointed—not only by the failure to provide basic comfort, but also by the lack of accountability. Given that the room had no functioning air conditioning and no means of natural ventilation, we were also left questioning whether it was safe or appropriate for guests to stay in such conditions.
We had expected a much higher standard from a hotel of this calibre, and sadly, the experience did not meet even the most fundamental expectations of guest care or safety.

Location. Listed as “Canary Wharf” but is actually across the expressway in Poplar (not a nice area at all, and the DLR station we had to walk through every day to get to the underground station is dirty and smells strongly of urine).
AC didn’t really work to cool the room, and the room key is needed to activate the electricity in the room besides, so the AC isn’t even on when you’re not in the room and it’s really hot & stuffy when you get back after a long day. (And it wasn’t even that hot outside, so I imagine it would be even more miserable on a hot, hot day.)
The shower was incredibly small. Water only flowed from a third of the holes in the “rainfall” showerhead and the detachable one was loose/broken so it wouldn’t stay raised on the pole.

Good
The hotel was nice and clean and up to date with the latest gadgets
The tv was connected to a box which kept crashing. Everytime we wanted to go from the bed to bathroom we had yo go up and down stairs.
On arrival we were charged 50 pounds for a deposit on the room. After checkout they said we had to wait for it to go back into the bank. Every other hotel just takes a credit card on record.
